I'm into Speed Cowbell, with auto-wah, tons of distortion, and a ping-pong delay set on endless repeat. Don't judge me....We had plenty of cowbell back then. It’s a dying art.

I need to go back and read what the goal is for this initiative. But I gotta say the Big Boss versions posted in this thread from the latest Suno were pretty amazing to me.Already confirmed, half-assed confirmed, possibly even formerly-confirmed:

Kerry Brown

It's important to ACTUALLY commit ... jump in openly and honestly, it trips a little "YES! I can DO this!"
switch in your brain, giving yourself the permission and real dedication to actually move forward.
I saw this happen in the print industry - typesetting was a trade... and dealing with camera-ready artwork to make printing plates. All replaced with desktop publishing. My post-secondary schooling was in recording engineering and live sound. We were learning how to adjust bias on 2" 24-track tape machines near the end of the course. 5 years later, digital was in. I'd bought Cubase VST, which was revolutionary... all the tracks and effects you'd ever really need. It ran pretty good on PC's that we'd consider ridiculous today. My cell phone has the same storage space today as my PC did in that era. Another 5 years later, I was working with Steinberg as a product evangelist (part-time) for Cubase SX (2002).All opinions welcome, this is why I put it out there. It's a divisive issue, but real.
The printed word destroyed sermons
The automobile destroyed horses and wagons
The phonograph destroyed live music
Radio destroyed book readin'
Television destroyed radio
The internet destroyed TV
Technological change happens, and through it all humans adapt or wither.
Remember when the guy from the separation house would bring in the Chromalin print, so you could see what it really looked like? Man, those were the days. It took forever to get things done… send out for type, get the type back, paste up the boards, send them out to be shot and separated…..I saw this happen in the print industry - typesetting was a trade... and dealing with camera-ready artwork to make printing plates. There's a little fantasy musicians hold, where we think our original artistry will impact the general public in profound ways, and perhaps be so compelling that it can be monetized. Or that it is able to entice doe-eyed, promiscuous women to pine for our attention as we gaze upon them from the stage above. Which actually can work. Who-hoo! Free affection!
As a landlord, I've seen my young female tenants work for a living, while their boyfriends stay at home bashing on guitars with missing strings. These guys are mostly skilled at smoking pot and playing videos games during weekdays. They implore: "One day baby, I'm trying really hard. I just need a little more time." 6 months later, time has run out, and the female punts the tapeworm out of her unit.
I write this to suggest something: it's not easy to know what matters anymore... so perhaps at least we can have some laughs with our bros in forums like this.
Thanks, Angst my friend, my life in general with public biz and society gone off the rails. Very easy backdrop for material to write about ! I do dig PNW music a lot. The simplicity, without too much tech transferred into music . Sorta the opposite of robot music. That is why you feel it inside ! When the artist can put you at the scene of the song and you get your personnel interpretation of it.I always dig your songs BFT. You have your own style of song writing but your songs always seem to have a tinge of PNW in them.
I Love that snare sound!Made some new music with dinosaur age tech...
I did a track yesterday and paid a month today.I'm starting to see how AI can be useful. This video has convinced me to try some of my recordings into Suno.
