My mother had a 1957 Chrysler New Yorker - 413 cubic inch Hemi that I used to drive to classes at URI on Rte 95. I got it up to 125 mph one night and backed off becsuse it felt like those rear fins were making the car go airborne!
Don’t think I ever drove anything that fast. Maybe about 115. Had one car I can honestly say I drove as fast as it could go. Small block. 4bbl. But a 3.55 rear gear. Could actually get it to 6500 in 3rd (automatic) when the hyd lifters started floating. Read 115 on the speedo.
I had my 2010 Camaro up to 138. Had the 2019 Vette up to 150 on a lonely stretch of highway in Arizona. Rented a Challenger on Kauai which had a hemi. Go that up to 140 twice out by PMRF.
I’ve driven Kauai. No where I drove could I have gotten going that fast. We didn’t get over by the missile range except to pass by on sunset cruise.
Here’s one of the Challenger runs. The road to PMRF is a dead end out on the western edge of the island. Very little traffic, only for the base. This was next to PMRF, the road is straight for miles. I did this burnout and run and then stopped and did a second one.

Nope. I purposefully drove down the middle. No traffic and equal blacktop on both side. I took my half out of the middle.Looks like you had a bit of a problem keeping it the right lane.
