To What Are Yee Listenin' Right Now?

I'm not a fan of rap per se, but he is the first person to integrate some of that and actually make me "accept" or enjoy it. Probably because he can actually sing well, and play guitar...
You know, when my kids were little and I was first exposed to rap, I had the standard Midwest white guy reaction. I hated it. But as my kids became teenagers, they exposed me to the best of it - Jay Z, De La Soul, NWA - and I came to understand its roots and really dig it. They turned me on to good electronica, too, and some weird stuff like Fleet Foxes and Broken Social Scene. I pretty much dig anything done with skill and conviction. I’ve had clients ask me for hip-hop, and I was a great mimic, but my rap tracks sucked compared to what I was emulating. It takes more chops than you’d think.

My son became a rock fan, with some variation so I did not experience your form of exposure. Good for you and your family!

Great tune, I heard Breadfan before Metallica was even formed. Only because my high school friend Eric was a complete rock n roll nut. He always knew about music before I ever heard of them , often before USA released it. He’s like a rock Messiah or something. By the way also that was pretty heavy way back then.

I just want to say thank goodness , I was blessed to be alive when music scorched the earth . To have seen of all of this has been an incredible journey.

I had only ever heard Metallica's version until recently when the Breadfan original popped up on my youtube feed. I prefer the original. :yesway:

They really kicked ass. This friend Eric had all of these unheard bands he listened to. Lucifer’s Friend was from back then, Celtic Frost. He listened to Genisis , Beggars Banquet I think.
