What Are You Doing Right Now?

Swapping pickups again.

My wife and were learning some new songs when I ran out of breath and had to take a break. I'm sitting here listening to her play Leonard Cohen's Ain't No Cure For Love. It is a very pretty song in the key of F. He uses a lot of borrowed chords. In the middle of the verses there's a progression that goes F A7 Dm Bb. It is haunting.
Wow Kerry….I can’t imagine…

Right now I'm trying to get this guitar to sound good enough to either keep or sell. This is actually my best Warmoth build, but it's a very dark guitar for some reason. I want to sell it, but I love the neck and want to keep it, too. Right now it sounds pretty good with a Suhr SSH Plus in the bridge. The neck pickup has never been in question. It's a mini HB size P90 I found years ago and it sounds great, I just wish I could remember where I got it from.

Decisions decisions :hmmm:...

Question. I know you grill quite a bit on this. So obviously it get hot. But how is it hot sitting around sipping a bear watching playoffs. Do you feel it like an open fire pit?
Good question…
It throws some heat outwards, but not too much. If you want to feel the warmth, you have to be within a few feet of the pit… The bulk of the blast furnace shoots straight up…it’s like a blowtorch that way. The company that manufactures them is well aware of this, and has put out a heat deflector that redirects the heat outward. It attaches to the post that is used for the grill and other attachments.

I haven’t gone for one yet…I’m not that cold around it in spring summer and fall, when it sees the most action.
I am tempted by the grill dome that they released for it. That is on my wish list. Pizza over the open fire might be fun.

Worked on this one some more today. I think it's going to stay in the fold, which is kind of a bummer because I need to sell some stuff to fund my amp, but I pulled the Suhr SSH+ today and replaced it with an SSV bridge with an A2 magnet swap. Now we're talking, it sounds better than it ever has now and it's a fun guitar to play, my best Warmoth build.

I have a new plan to fund my new amp. I was going to sell my Traditional, but I can't bring myself to let it go. So I'm getting my old 2013 Tribute ready to sell and I have my Melody Maker to sell. One of them is going to pay for a Marshall Origin 20 so I have an amp to play around with while my amp is being built because I'm going to sell my King Kong to pay for my new Ceriatone amp. Those of you that saw my amp thread know what I'm talking about. Those that don't, see my amp thread. :)
