The wife's tumour is growing again. Radiation Therapy next.

Sorry to hear, Jethro.

But, yeah, radiation gets a bad rap. My wife had radiation in her hands and feet for a condition called, Dupuytren's Disease. Stopped it in it's tracks.

Keep us informed as to her progress.
What’s helpful when it comes to radiation treatment in the 2020s…. Medicine has discovered how to pinpoint exactly the area needing zapped. Doctors no longer have to zap a patient from the neck up to radiate a few centimeters tumor. Side effects are way less now than before.

I recently went through a month of radiation for prostate cancer. Not applicable in your wife's case but I used local volunteer cancer drivers to make the daily three hour return trip. One of the drivers had radiation for brain cancer. He was fully recovered and living a normal life. He said the worst part was they had to make a mask to hold his head in position during the treatment. He said it was somewhat claustrophobic. He said the treatments themselves caused no problems in his case. I hope this is the case for your wife as well. We are all rooting for her.

Sorry to just see this now Jethro... she's got you in her corner, and she's been tough enough so far... the tech they have is quite amazing and I've heard a lot of great things about your city's med professionals....miracle after miracle. Much mojo to your dearest, we are all in your corner as well.

Thanks, exactly what they do to pinpoint the zaps. A metal cage. She is ok with that stuff, if it was me I am not so sure.
My hairdresser's husband went through that as well.
Hope everything worked for you Kerry.

I learned some interesting things about the radio therapy centre here.
this University actually started a "new" "cobalt bomb" radiation therapy in N America in the early 50s. (World’s first calibrated Cobalt-60 cancer therapy unit established at the University of Saskatchewan in 1951) Other firsts have followed. In the movie "First Man" about Neil Armstrong, he mentions on the phone about maybe travelling to Saskatoon, Canada (here!!) to take his daughter for radiation treatment in 1963. So we were/are a very well known institute for such.

Great news! Sounds like your wife is in good hands.

Wait...what!?

You have a "hair dresser"?

You must be more famous than I thought!

Barber seems wrong when she works at a salon. I always think of a barber as a place with a red n white pole. Technically she's a hairdresser, I guess.
My hair cutter's husband...
