Bdon, I am incredibly impressed by your singing. You blew my mind the first time I heard BastardFactory material.
Thanks @chilipeppermaniac ! That is really nice of you to say! I’m thankful that you took the time to listen!

That song was an acoustic piece, until the full lyric was underway, then it became what it is. Half of the band didn’t really seem to care much for it back when it made it to the occasional set list…too much plodding….they didn’t groove in timesig’s of 3. Yet they got on fine in 11:8…they ate that up…

Regarding the vocals in that recording: I was playing around with an old Bowie studio mic’ing technique. I had an SM7 up close, and a large diaphragm multi-pattern mic (set to figure 8) about fifteen feet away, placed high in a corner of the room. I found the method distracting while tracking, and feel that I could have done a better performance if I had kept it simple.

Edit: Now that I go looking for it, I guess I never really did a thread for it…not on that I can find. I know I chatted about the process with Ray, and probably others, at the time, but hey…

That's nothing add the import fees and tax then customs gets their 3.5% cut
Um..., the shipping thing was an attempt at humor.

This got me to wondering. If I were to go to Europe and took a guitar with me, I would not be subject to import fees or customs to bring my guitar back home with me, right?
How would an airline know if I was bringing a $100 Squier guitar vs a $500-$2500 Jackson, or a $2000 Gib Flying V, or a $25000 V etc back home?

I seem to remember that SG John got a hand made John Cipollina copy like this back home with him. If I remember right, it was a gift. Maybe he can shed some light on how this works.
