Fellow Flying V users

Well, the Schecter in the pic that was local to me sold. But I found this one out by Toledo Ohio. My wife's parents are about 1.5 hours East of Toledo and I may see if the seller will meet me part way closer to Cleveland for an in person deal when we go visit her parents in a few days. The Ohio one has EMG's and a Schecter case.1735307044058.png

All this guitar searching has me finding all kinds of cool guitars and some interesting demo's too.
Yes the fella above was a young fella doing his best to rock his Black Gold V, but I also saw the fella below doing a demo of a Dean V and now this Dean Z Explorer.

He is right, it definitely has nice tone and sustain. Very tempting guitars.
Some of that tone / feedback / sustain is that Silver Jubilee amp. If you crank it enough any Marshall tube amp should pull that off for the most part.

Here is a crazy or not so crazy observation on that front. I will go back to my Epiphone LP and will argue how good it sounds even with the stock EPI pickups.
However, my LP is no longer stock. 1st, I put a pair of 1979 T Tops in it. 2nd, I had Baltimore's finest luthier install a bone nut in it. It could be my imagination, but even with my lowly Solid State Princeton Chorus amp, I can get sustain for days, and if I play through my Fender Red Knob The Twin or Marshall JMP 50 watt head, It gets into the type tone you mention. Good stuff.

Oh man, 79 T tops. I would love to hear that.
Of course the guitar is part of it , speakers and the pickup.

2 more choices I have locally that are in the $1100-$1200 range.

2016 Trad Pro

And here is a 2007 Faded that I have dealt with this player/seller before when I bought my PRS Santana SE. This one comes with Black Winter pickups and Sperzel Locking tuners along with the original tuners and case.

I'd go with the Faded Cherry - if I didn't already have one....

Fitz, thanks for the pic in the Tele thread.
Now I am jonesing for this Faded Cherry V even more than all the V's I have eyed since B4 Christmas. If the music store where the Dean V guitar is, hadn't stopped taking checks, they would have gotten more of my business on the Dean and maybe a 2nd guitar. So for now, I am happy with the Cherry V deal.

Here is a clip of my same year/ model Epi LP with the stock pickups, not me playing. But if Kevin can make a stock Epi sound good. Think how good they sound with Gibson parts.

Our V thread has slowed to a crawl. In some other places the subject has shown some of my progress in the V department.

However, as we are approaching 7 days since the last message here on Friday, It is less than 24 hours away from my first Gib V.
As some know, I made my interest a bit more serious to the guy I bought my PRS Santana SE off. He basically dropped his price on his 2007 Faded Cherry V to where I could feel comfortable affording his V over some of the others I also wanted. I'll meet him @ 6 PM tomorrow to check it out and unless something is hugely jacked up, it will be mine.

Oh yeah, it will come with the original tuners which were replaced by Sperzel Locking tuners. The Pickups are Duncan Black Winter, and the case is also included, which is a bonus over some of the other V's I was finding.
