Well my Bride

Washer? LG front loader. The thing is amazing. Bought one to replace a decrepit old Whirlpool top loader some ~10 years ago. It was an ~$800 USD CR Smart Buy.

I have a Consumer Reports online subscription. LG is consistently at or near the top in both ratings and subscriber reliability surveys.

I have a likely 30+ year old Whirlpool dryer that slogs along. It is just me, so they do not see a lot of use.
Ahaha subscription , that’s why I couldn’t view it. Consumer Reports wants me to subscribe so they can carpet bomb my email.
Best score 87?

My Honda Civic is 20 years old.
There are a of course exceptions, Hondas and Toyotas are made in Japan. Possibly the better manufacturers. I have had a slew of new cars, the better ones were Toyotas.

The Chrysler, Ford products are well what ever. No cars 20 years old are with out problems but if the engines hold up every thing else can be fixed. I have a 2000 GMC Sierra with the most gutless 4.3. The driver seat is shot.

How many CV , half shafts in your front wheel drives?

Yes..... Honda and Toyota are Japanese companies. We've had a Toyota Solara (2-door Camry) and now the Civic. Both were manufactured in the states. In fact, when I researched my American Dodge Intrepid and compared it the Solara, more American hands assembled the Toyota than did the Dodge.

Hey thanks for that info! I will be jotting down a few of these LG model, I have an LG fridge and stove and big screen TV fridge and stove 9 years old no problems . LG Tv 12 years still puuring along..

Norm, we got a new set of LGs about 2 years ago and my wife loves them. I couldn't tell you how to turn the things on, but she's a real pro and thinks they're great ;)

You have the right machine then. I never bought a new one yet but if I do, that might be the one.
Maytag used to be king but not now.
A lot of machines are the same with a different name.
It is a vastly superior machine than the old top loader. Laundry is noticeably less damp coming out of the LG as it spins quite fast. The top loader would get into a violent out of balance condition sometimes requiring quick intervention. None of that with the LG. There is a high speed spin setting I never use. The default normal cycle works very well automatically adjusting for lighter versus heavy loads.

Well I spent hours researching for a washer machine. I really like LG products as I mentioned. But we wanted a top loader. There are a couple of stores here that sell LG, but they don't have service for them in my area. There service comes from over an hour away, and you have to pay for their travel time, plus they do not set up new machine and don't give an extra year over their 1 year warranty.

So I ended up returning to the business where we purchased our new dryer last year. I spent hours checking out Whirlpool and Maytag, which Maytag bought out Whirlpool. After hours of researching many models of Whirlpool and Maytag, I walked in and purchased a Maytag top loader washing machine.

5591 reviews gave it 4.5 Stars 88% satisfaction rate.

What I like about the dealer I purchased from, who is a local businessman

1. They Have their own installers and delivery guys
2. There is no fee for delivery, installation.
3. No fee for removing old washer.
4. In the first 30 days from delivery, If for any reason, I am not happy with the unit, I can return for a full refund
5. I also received a promo, aside from the 1 year warranty, I get another year at no charge.
6. If something goes wrong with the washer, I call them, and they will have a repair guy that works for them come out and repair the unit in short order.
7. If there is a problem getting parts, they will replace the unit for another new one. I have purchased from them before, no pressure and always helpful. There are many that buy their appliances from them, and some I know. They deal in appliances ONLY. Maytag, Whirlpool, Kitchenaid

I can only hope , that I have made the right choice..:fingersx:

Might I ask why top loader? Front loaders are more efficient.

Yes they are, we like the top loader for convenience. The energy rating is very good it says 47 dollars a year at doing 6 loads of laundry a week, that's cheap . Now my Wife does laundry twice a month, so that is even cheaper yet.

And yes its high efficiency on this top loader..
