Announcing... RiffMasters!

Ahhh,

Chapter 10 Main Event

My fellow RiffMasters, we’ve traveled dirt roads, made sweet love music, tense international intrique music, surfed, punked,
totally chilled out and even explored the very depths of Hell! Worse yet, we’ve even been challenged to try jazz!

Sadly, along the way it seems we've left behind some friends who started this epic musical trek with us, but others have joined us
along the way, to help keep things VERY interesting! Well, it ain't quite over yet! It's now time for the final leg of our journey,
the one we've been working towards for nearly an entire year!

For The Chapter 10 Main Event we will culminate this year long musical adventure with a Monster Boss waiting to be slayed, a fitting challenge to complete the game.
Some of you may find this daunting, but with all the skills most of you have explored throughout the challenges, I expect any initial intimidation will likely
give way to creative inspiration once you actually get started.

For the final Main Event challenge you are to write, record and produce an original piece of music, including lyrics, ( spoken or sung).
The catch is, the theme we will be all be working inside is
“Modern Problems”

Simply put, make one or more observations about the current times we’re living in, and flesh that out in a recorded song which includes a title, verses,
choruses and even a bridge, solo and outtro if you wish. Your lyrics may be serious, dark, poignant, humorous, whatever!
As long as it is accompanied by original music in any style you wish, singer/songwriter style, or full-blown production.

Minimum 3:00 long and like the Motown Showdown side hustle, please post your lyrics along with your musical submission.

Five bonus points are available for singing or spoken-wording lyrics in the recorded production, by yourself or someone you recruit.
The Deadline is Sunday November 10th, 7PM to get into the vote, or earn participation points.

No RiffMasters Main Event Challenge is mandatory. Anyone can drop in at any time, and you should!
The goal is to have fun, challenge yourself, and share the creativity inside this beautiful community.

Chapter 10 Main Event Scoring: 48 hour Community Poll Vote on submissions post deadline.
Top Vote Earner = 10 points
Second & Third Places = 7 points.
Participation Award: All other competitors who manage to submit a valid entry = 5 points
Five bonus points for featuring singing or spoken-worded the lyrics in the recorded production.

Ahh... :good_morning:

Thank you @iblive no big at this point but since @Clockworkmike failed to show up for the last duel, he's ineligible.

Still, appears to me that this final round mano-a-mano showdown is going to be against a couple of absolute RiffMaster duel WARRIORS!

NO choice remaining, with but one tile left on the far upper right - but wow! What a fitting and entertaining end to the duel component of our
RiffMasters oddyssey! Not only will you two be battling each other, but you will also need to defeat and control a fierce sonic leviathan End Boss
of your own creation! I love how this worked out!

Seasoned Battle-hardened Guitar Gladiators both, @Mouse v.s. @Mitch Pearrow SJMP are about to show us how it's done.

In "Tame the Monster," dueling contestants get to dial 'er up a little, with an aim to create for themselves a feedback Beast of Terror!
Then, they are going to attempt to musically control that terrible creature however they can, hopefully to some sort of musical effect.
No backing tracks, but certainly looping and/or time-based effects are 100% OK - Just bring us some pure sonic mastery of a swirling loop
of tonez for minimum 1:00 - or even longer if it's gloriously good!

Either duelist can go first, before ten days are up. Then, the other has ten more to respond.

The rest of us will vote on who "Tamed The Monster" best for 18-9 points, and I hope others will join in to attempt for the single point.
RiffMasters assumes no responsibility for angry neighbors, irritated dogs, and police calls due to noise complaints. You're on your own!

My submission for 'Modern Problems':
Too Many Passwords

OS 8 > HX Stomp, RC-3

WARNING: EXPLICIT LYRICS
Yeah, so what's my problem?
i got too many passwords ... too many passwords
i got a password for this and a password for that
it's more annoying than a ****** gnat
Try to remember all that ish 'cause there's stuff i gotta do
logging in may be easy for you but it's a challenge for me
'cause i got too many passwords ... too many passwords
some of my ish is double encrypted
they gotta call me on my phone before i can log in
but that ish is password protected too
so whatcha gonna do when you got too many passwords?

you try to write that ish down but that ain't right
'cause when you write it down someone can read it off
and log in instead of you
then whatcha gonna do when they steal your identity
well it hasn't happened to me (yet) but it's only a matter of time
before that ish fall out the ****** tree
too many passwords ... too many passwords

pick something easy to remember, but that's easy to figure out
pick something that's randomly generated, you can't remember that ish
so you put it on your computer, your computer remembers that ish

but your computer is password protected too
so whatcha gonna do?
you got too many passwords ... i got too many passwords
too many ... too many ... too many ... passwords

Frosty in hard with the entire spirit of the Modern Problems main event! A serious and ubiquitous tech issue laid on us to a vibey acid jazz downbeat groove... nice work! Being first in, who's gonna dare take on the same subject now?

Changing gears, tonight I was testing stuff for the "Tame The Monster" challenge... had a strat into my workshop amp, a terrifically craptastic " Wal-Mart "Rocker brand thing.
Oh it was feeding back alright. I was shakin' and bending the neck of that thing something fierce, gettin' all kinds of fun noizes.... until...

Forgot the guitar was NOT Well-Hung. I swear, some companies just don't frickin get it. WOrd of warning to all y'alls perhaps.

For me, I have all the stuff here to fix it, and improve it proper in like 5 minutes. For others, not so easy.

Apologies for lack of participation lately. Work has been a beast and any playing time I have is spent on my own meanderings.

I'd love to participate in this duel but this could be problematic as I record digitally using modelers which of course, do not feed back. I'd like to stay married so cranking my Boogie up isn't really an option. I hate to say it but I may need to drop out of this one and endure the shame turds that will be thrown at me.

Very nice !

@Mouse, we need a definitive answer on this. Yay, or nay! If nay, cue @Thatbastarddon
And at this point, if it's Nay, I sense you are already suffering a little shame, but know the
disappointment vibes Jimi, EVH, Leslie West and Gary Moore are sending down, will cause
your gear to never look at you quite the same way ever again.

Well if you're putting my back to the wall, it's a nay for the reason mentioned...unless you've got a line on a new feedback pedal that works in a digital environment. ;)

I've never been much of a Jimi or West fan and that last Van Halen record left a lot to be desired so I'll happily return the favor and send some disappointment vibes into the afterlife as well. :D
