What guitar have you been playing the most lately??

We all have our "number 1" that we love the most, but do you ever go through phases when you are consistently reaching for your "not number 1" ? Lately I've been picking up a partscaster everytime I walk into the room. It may have something to do with the current riffmasters challenges of surf and motown, but I am just really digging my strat lately.


It's a very light colored shell pink body from MJT with Joel Dyer "greasy hot" pickups and the most wonderful neck by Musikraft. One beautiful piece of flamey roasted maple goodness topped off with stainless steel frets.

It was only out for a few years, but definitely a killer guitar although im curious whats under the pickguard. Its weird...like it almost feels like a hollow body , i imagine because of the routing for the floyd rose and some routing for getting the jack in the upper wing. However its a killer player. The EMG 57-66 had become my favorite pickups since getting it
 
Well..... Past month or so I've been in a very unmotivated sorta place when it comes to playing guitar. But when I have its been these two.

My first electric (G400) purchased used back somewhere around 07. Pretty much modded everything on it except the wood and the plastic. Turned it into a really decent guitar to play and still one of my goto favorites.

And then there's the MIM Strat I bought new a few years back. After warranty I had a Pup die and then a Pot die.... so I updated all pups and pots to aftermarket... end result was more the Strat sound I was expecting, that after the fact I realized wasn't there with the OEM parts. Had to spend some cash, but end of the day..... Win Win. The Strat is also sporting a Well Hung strap.

However.... not like I have a bunch of guitars to choose from. The family is on the small side. But I still have every one I've ever purchased.

None - I hate playing anymore - does nothing for me. I did go to sell my 2014 '57 Les Paul Gold Top with a beautiful brass anniversary year back switch cover plate yesterday and said "No the F way to myself" then put it away. Don't feel like playing but that sure as hell doesn't mean I want to get rid of them.

I play it the most, and it’s always hanging on the wall within reach.

But lately, I’ve been playing my namesake fiesta red 1992 Fender US Vintage’62 Stratocaster quite a bit.

To address the question in the OP, yes, I do go through phases where I really favor one guitar over another.

Long-time members of the forum have probably gotten used to my annual or semi-annual posts where I get the Les Paul bug and this becomes the obsession:

Nevertheless, I can't say I have a "Number One."

I'm a bit of an odd-ball like that. I don't have a favorite genre of music; I don't have a favorite guitar player; I don't have a favorite guitar - even within my own herd of guitars.

I'm sort of a musical nomad. I don't have a permanent musical residence. I more or less wander the musical countryside as my mood and needs shift.
