Here again are the mission parameters:
What we do need is minimum 1 minute of a believable motown-style soundscape submitted to this thread to earn an automatic FOUR points.
1 bonus point for new original lyrics to original Motown style track (submitted in text if you like).
1 bonus point if you cover a classic and sing it too.
2 extra points for your original lyrics laid down on your fresh original track in a vocal styling.
@Ku² is correct to call me out on my somewhat ambiguous rules, SO, I will give him, and any one else the one point for "text only" lyrics, and TWO extra points if you sing them, or (have someone else sing them), which @frostyjr2 has also done.
It is very nice to lay those lyrics out in text for us, because being a somewhat terrible amateur songsmith myself, when anyone posts original material I always want to see the lyrics

Ku² - Was first in with his RiffMunsters theme post 5113, has surfed, post 5155, and Motowned post 54174, deservedly in the Penthouse
Ibmorjam - Brought us "Funky Monster" post 5135,
TVvoodoo - wishes there were 32 hours in a day
Jethro Rocker - is flying low, under the radar
C-Grin - Duelled his way to big points via "Surfy" post 5124
Sapient - Is scouring ebay for more KISS memorabilia
SG John - is having chowdah for suppah after a wicked pissah at a rippah
Thatbastarddon - Trying to obtain an annulment from his new squatch wife. Grounds? Refuses to shave

if you don't get one in, you WILL NOT be eligible for the Round 9 Main Event Community Vote.
This challenge requires you to make an new, improved them for The Munsters. Link to RiffMunsters Challenge post
Get after the "MOTOWN SHOWDOWN" Side Hustle for an easy 4, possibly 1 or 2 more! (Post 4789). Due Sunday Oct. 6 7pm.
And don't forget to take a stab at the "SURF DUEL" Guitar Beach Party for a guaranteed one point, also due on October 6, before the end of the Main Event vote.
ALL RiffMasters challenges are open to any TTR member, no matter how musically insufferable you may be, just check the rules in the original
game post, then drop your submission in this thread. Remember, when virtual fruit is thrown your way, it CANNOT STAIN YOUR CLOTHES and may
be returned! The only fail possible is NOT taking part in our fun and creative musical safe space adventure
Before Round 9 is even complete you can earn all kinds of points just for trying! But once again, it's not really about points!
It's about creatin', participatin' and sharin' with fun forum friends, stowing your ego, and embarrassing yourself in front of your peers,
and maybe causing yourself, and others to crack a smile. We can all use a little more smile fuel in these dark, dark times.
Stop polishing and admiring your guitars and make some noise!

Nice , thanks frostyjr2. The studio recording process is key and makes it obvious how hard it was to recreate Hitsville.
I almost forgot about James Jamerson sponges on the strings. I did see that on another video.

Can you find any Sting bass lines like that? That guy is pretty phenomenal too, plus, he sang while playing those lines. Paul McCartney too. Two of my biggest bass influences. And, of course, Aston "Family Man" Barrett. I'd say McCartney might be one of the most underrated bass players of all time. Check out the isolated bass tracks to While My Guitar Gently Weeps. It's SUPERFLIPPINFANTASTIC!
