For our Round 9 Main Event we return to the TV theme genre! If you are around my age or older you'll likely vaguely
remember the creepy, campy comedy of “The Munsters.” If you are younger than that, you are probably at least
somewhat aware of the comedic program.

The Munsters original show theme married an oddly-keyed orchestral/surf vibe, but the plain fact of the matter was
it was just not near as catchy as the opening theme to a similar competing television program of the same time called
“The Addams Family” with it’s very still-familiar, almost timeless “duhna-duhna *Snap-Snap*" intro.

The producers of the Munsters have now hired YOU, a talented Hollywood composer to come up with a killer, equally catchy,
NEW theme to better-intro their program as well as provide complimentary extro music bed for closing credits.

Bonus points available:
Add at least three creative sound effects, or stuff that ain’t plain old guitar music = 1pt. (voice, sound fx, singing, eagles, rattlers, whips whatever!)
Package the video all together your ownself, using the same supplied footage so I don’t have to do it for you = 1pt.

DEADLINES
Wednesday October 2 is your deadline if you need ME to overlay your music to the video and upload
Friday October 4th is your deadline to provide us all a link to your fully completed video online in this thread.

No RiffMasters Main Event Challenge is mandatory. Anyone can drop in at any time, and you should!
The goal is to have fun, challenge yourself, share the creativity.

Below is the link to download the video so you may download and edit all by your ownself...

Maybe by attaching to this it can found easier or not.
The guitar is secondary on this as my focus was the Rhodes Keyboard. Not the best work but at least I got the dust off of it for a day.No bass or drum created. Loops from the Mixcraft 9 DAW.

My apologies fellow Riffsters, been nutty here for work and family the last little bit... but I am still watching what's happenin'. I can announce the official Guitar Duel is complete and settled.

Congrats @C-Grin , @Frosty threw a lot at you, but you came back totally chill, and brought your own kind of fire

C-grin takes 12, Frosty grabs up six. The surf challenge remains open to all TTR members to take a stab at just for the pure guitary fun, and most can earn an extra participation point by doing so.

Stay tuned ... the Chapter 9 side hustle drops tomorrow.

OK, with the duel over and before I reveal the Chapter 9 side hustle, gotta comment a bit on two Main Event Entries by @frostyjr2 and @ibmorjamn
First " Spooky" by frosty was crayzee. Almost a bit to scary for a sitcom theme, but the acid jazz trip hop beat kind of brought it into accessiblility-land.
The amount of sound effects what kind of overwhelming... as were the choices on where to put them, but what an effort! I had to listen to his four times
just to get all what was going on.

Conversely, two listens was plenty enough to get the just of Ibmorjamn's Munster theme... a GREAT, I mean GREAT organ melody, with rhythm guitar stabs and
some unsettling screams going on too... but when it changed to the more guitary section, with the bass that's when I went OH Yeah! Then it resolves coming
back around to the organ again, to close it all down. Very nice. This one had swell timing and groove, and everything seemed to be mixed superbly.
Wonderful!

These tracks will be going to the round nine vote and we now have THREE great Munsters alt themes to consider.

Stay tuned later tonight for the Round 9 side Hustle, which is gonna take us all to Detroit Rock City!

Perhaps you thought this was gonna be about Paul, Gene Ace and Petey? Sorry fellas, LOL! Nope!
Might be fun, but I don't think it would be much challenge at all for most of you. Rest assured the Love Gun boys *could* maybe show up in the next ten challenges somewhere.

Some of the best pop music of the 20th century came out of Detroit from a label that plain exploded, responsible for creating a whole new modern music sound. This don’t happen often! Love him or hate him, one Berry Gordy Jr. founded the Tamla Label, renaming it “Motown Records” a year later in 1960.
Basically he was able to fire up a hit-single factory, and launch the careers of many a monster talent.

As an entity owned by an African American, Gordy’s Motown label played a very important role in the racial integration of popular music. and unprecedented crossover success. Motown and its subsidiary labels gained massive sales and creative success managing to merge R&B soul with pop sensibilities earning radio airplay and wide market appeal. During the 1960s, lovers of popular music boosted 79 singles recorded by Motown artists in the Billboard Hot 100 Top Ten. And the music didn't slow down much in the 70's either after the label was moved to be based in California.

Your mission is to do a bit of a dive and create your own Motown-style cut, baby. Perhaps you wanna cover a classic favourite, or maybe you got enough soul deep inside waiting to create your own new smoov groove.

We don’t need lyrics, but if you're feelin' it, why not?

What we do need is minimum 1 minute of a believable motown-style soundscape submitted to this thread to earn an automatic FOUR points.

One bonus point for new original lyrics to original Motown style track submitted in text.
One bonus point if you cover a classic motown song and sing it too.
Two extra points for your original lyrics laid down on your fresh original track in a vocal styling by you, your friend or yowling cats in the back alley

Personally I got about as much soul as store checkout divider stick. I’m practically white as chalk. But, perhaps maybe I can work up a bit of a groove and make some sweet soul music? Time permitting, I'm gonna try, and you should too!

Let’s get it ON!

Looking at brother @iblive rather colourful chart inherited from @LiveeviL2000 , and assuming he didn't get hacked by
some dark web mastermind who's juicing the results, ( don't take it personally RVM) we have some new desigations

Ibmorjam has punched through to the Rocker level, along with @C-Grin[/USER] and @frostyjr2
with the duel points that aren't shown here

@Jethro Rocker @Randy Van Malmsteen have become Rollers (lucky dogs)

JOYkXbNr_o.gif

and @Aynirar27 has moved up to the RiffMaster level and is buzzing the intercom
of the penthouse incessantly.

With approximately (wild guess) at least 16 points easily attainable just by
participating in the next two rounds, and maybe a little extra luck and good
choices, at least three maybe even four of you can pass the SUPERSTAR barrier.
This could be something cool you can tell your great grandkids about as
they are wheeling your pee soaked wheelchair out of the local pub someday.

Just to clear up any confusion, yes, the Agape World J. Keryc. I worked for the dude, taking care of his hanging chiclid tank, in his LBNY condo. Billionaire Boys Club JK. BEFORE he went to jail for Securities Fraud, Conspiracy, Mail Fraud and Wire Fraud. Took $8.9 Mil in "Commisions" in the Cosmo Ponzi Scheme. At the end of my employ he was trying to pay me with Rolex Watches and whatever else he needed to get rid of, (I suppose in hindsight). I still have the PS4 he used as payment.

@Ku² gets his surf on for a single, and now I gotta let him back into the penthouse.
But listening to that was kind of almost worth dealing with all his hair in the bathroom sink and
him inviting all his obnoxious punk rock buddies over for tea and crumpets.

Man, was a epic surf ride, you worked the waves real nice, even had a little breakdown in there, but
overall it kind of seemed like a melancholy "last day of the season" sort of vibe to it, which maybe
was more a function of the wonderful video work. We all remember when Ku started this game, he
was struggling with the tech, both audio and video and now months later, he's seems to have
found all the right buttons and is pushing them with authori-tay! VERY COOL VIDEO WORK!~

That's what RiffMasters is all about, trying and learning some new skills and having fun doing it,
and if anyone tells you different, you tell 'em they best smarten up or ol' billy bob'll set you straight
