Looking to upgrade my cabs...

I'm sorry brother.
Has anyone mentioned Harley Benton?
I've heard good things about the build quality and the loaded cabs are about the price of the speakers.

Available through Thomann-US.
Lots of stuff looks backordered, but they have an unloaded Thiele 112 for about $200 shipped.
Well, the whole point was trading my MX cabs in. If I buy new I think I'm going to go with a Mojotone cab.

Well, keep in mind...

GC trade-ins are quick and convenient, but whatever the going rate is for those cabs used, GC is going to give you about 1/2 of that in trade.
The 10% off new sometimes is a deal when you bring in a little piece of garbage on a trade for something way more expensive (I've done that :yesway: ).

You could probably do better than that on CL, and get whatever cab(s) you want from anywhere.
Reverb listings can also be "local only" and may reach a larger viewing audience willing to do a weekend drive.

The bummer about them is shipping , at least for me.

That is a very nice cab, 14”x 17” x 13”

I did not know that they were available “unloaded”. That’s pretty well spec’d….and with a cover included.

How far are you willing to travel? There's a prominent YT'er that has a ton of used cabs and gear that is constantly selling. However, I think he's in the Pittsburgh area IIRC.

The main reason I kind of blew this off this morning (sorry) is because of it's size. It's smaller than my MX112, and that's a small cab. If I'm going to get a 112 cab it's got to be at least 21" wide.

That's what I like about the Mojotone 112 Heritage cab, it's 22" wide and would be perfect size to sit under my 21" wide head. I know it's a little pricey, but from everything I've read about MT cabs they are some of the best quality out there and it's got the perfect look I'm going for.

I would be willing to travel within a couple of hours or so, but not that far.

All good, just throwing out other options.
H-B sells a lot of different cabs, and I thought the link may provoke some shopping around...
Going with the Mojotone cab is a solid choice. :yesway:

Really?
That's my neck of the woods - got a YT link or something?

I think I'm going to rule out a 212 cab just for the weight alone. With my back issues it's about all I can do to manage moving around my MX212 and it's 50lbs. The 5150 cab I was looking at is 60lb, I think it probably worked out best that I missed it.

If I get the MT cab for now, then down the road after I sell my Standard I can get a second one, have my head cab redone to match and I'll be all set. I think that might be my plan. I still might take my MX cabs up to trade them in on some things. I need a few smaller items like cables and a couple of guitar stands and stuff like that. I've pretty much written them off and just want them out of here and out of my way with the least amount of aggravation.

Erie PA, Kyle Bull, killer channel. His gear is on FB & CL

Ah yes, I've seen his adds on the local CL.
He occasionally hits the Pittsburgh area with a listing.
Erie PA is about a 2 hour drive due north from where I'm at.

Well, I did it, I was going to wait until I sold something, but I don't have much patience once I make up my mind. I ordered the Mojotone Heritage 112 I linked above. $475 with free delivery and with what most are charging for delivery on things these days I figure I only payed $375 for it. ..that makes sense, right?

Got the cab today. It's 10x better than the MX 112! It sounds really good and looks just like I wanted it to. :dood:

I also received an H75 Creamback I bought from a friend on the Marshall forum today. If the M65 is a sponge, the H75 is a brick, :rolf2: I need to try it mixed with a M65 and so far I haven't done that. Jury is still out on that one...

So it looks like I'm not going to be able to live without a 212 cab after all, but the MX cab has to go. I'm waiting for new Marshall cabs to start shipping? Sweet water says in a few weeks, but I don't know how long they've been saying that, lol. I need to trade my MX 212 for an SC or SV 212.

Congratulations!!!
I wonder how many speakers you disliked, perhaps, only for the cab they were in.

Note to self: Just say “NO” to MX cab’s…. ;)

I definitely blame the cabs, but I still have the speakers so I'll try them all again. I did try the WGS ET65 again in my Sourmash cab and it was MUCH better. I hated it in the MX cab when I bought it, thought it was crap, but it turns out it's not a bad speaker at all. I imagine it'll sing (like you said) if I ever get it broke in.
