I really need to stay off of Facebook Marketplace!

(I'm my defense, I sold a guitar while I was driving down there lol to my other guitarist's son. )

Saw this axe, contacted the guy... He wouldn't meet me half way so I baulked on it for a day.

He messaged me today saying he'd be home.... Arrrrgh ok I drove 2 hours south and picked it up.
It was way more chewed up than the pictures looked. The neck was straight, the frets good, most of the damage was on the sides and rear, no major cracks or anything..... I didn't even low-ball him, he looked rough and needed the money even more than this old scallywag!

Brought it home, gave it a bath. It's just to that starting to rust in a few spots age... The action was like 3/4 of an inch!
I took Lem-oil to the board, scrubbed it all over, cut the rusty strings off, cleaned and wiped it over and over. Screwed in some straploks, adjusted the neck... Dropped the bridge. New strings and tuned it up. Actually sounds huge! I've always wanted one if these, either in a bich, or in blue..... They are getting pretty scarce at least in this color.... This black one is still pretty wicked I think.

I give you The "ROAD HAG"

To be honest BC Rich makes the only stock pickups I like! Ever! I may not even change these out!

I just used the baking soda and super glue trick to raise the level in the nut for the 3rd and 4th string, they were buzzing when plucked open. The rest are good, didn't want to shim the nut if I don't have to.
Going to go give it a quick file and see if it worked!

I also backed the pickup off a smidge to clean up a lot of the squeaky new string sound.

Will intonate it in a bit, probably also swap out the rusty screws for clean ones

I took all the rusty headed screws and sanded them shiny again. Somebody had the bridge ring mounted backwards lol... The tall part at the front! I fixed that.
The super glue/baking soda trick worked amazingly well. Filed the nut just a bit and the 2 strings don't buzz anymore. Adjusted pole pieces, intonated. I've been playing it for half an hour and I really like this thing. I kinda knew I would....
