What a Difference a Band Makes

It's odd the way things work out.

In my former band, these were my main guitars:

In my new band, these seem to be working out as the main axes:

Weird, huh?

And, no, it's not AC/DC and Black Sabbath stuff.

I know what you’re talking about. A lot of it is how well the guitar and amp sound with the other members. It’s not about your sound, but what makes the song and the band sound it’s best.

For real.

I’m working in tandem with a very experienced and skilled acoustic guitarist. He also plays electric from time to time, but he’s most comfortable on acoustic. But, he’s definitely not just a cowboy-chord strummer. In a strange way, in practices things seems to be taking on almost a psychedelic vibe for some songs, for which I think the SG is very well suited. I use the Jackson for some tunes where the guitar is detuned half a step.

Yep yep!
Tone, stage playability, band image, all play a part in forcing a player to choose the best axe for the show.
