The 48 hour vote will start approx 7pm-ish. I have a major sporting event I am going to be
enjoying (I hope!) as well, that is almost as important and highly anticipated worldwide as this
RiffMasters competition. As you all plainly know by now, I am pretty much the Connor McDavid
of musical stylez, but I can have my off nights too.
But I am very surprised we only have 8 entrants. Still time to bang one out. Automatic Five points
just for participating, but more if it wins over the votes and get's us dancin'

Okay boys and girls. Here ya go with my 80s #1 hit song. Rick's (me and that other Rick) rule!!
Not totally finished since I sorta ran out of time. Still need lyrics..... gonna be Weird Al style. When that happens I'll post again in the alternate posting thread. It's not real clean. My first attempt at multi-track recording, so I do feel some timing is off. But it's done (more or less).... and shared. Anyway...... enjoy:
Used backing track for drums and keys.
Bass is my mid 90s Ibanez bass that has been gathering dust for a very long time.
Clean guitar is my Strat.
Dirty guitar is my G400

Guess I should add a back story to why Jessie’s Girl. Because I was never a Rick Springfield fan boy. However, years ago I stumbled on the opening riff….. which mostly runs thru the whole song. Been so long ago I don’t remember if it was an accident or I actually looked up the chords.
Anyway. The opening chord riffage is what I’ve used to warm up and get the fingers limber for years. Repeat many times. So when this challenge came up and saw it was a #1….. it was a no brainer.
And an aside. I’ve played my bass for this song more in the past couple weeks than the 25+ years combined since I’ve owned it.
