RIFFMASTERS DEMOS, IDEAS, ALTERNATE RECORDINGS, and RANDOMNESS!

Funny story... I have been working on my western theme for days. This morning i was just sweetening it a bit with fx, eq etc. My wife comes into my gear grotto to ask me a question about plans for this afternoon while I was saving. I don't actually know what happened as I was a bit distracted, but turns out i saved over top my project somehow. Tried opening it up... just a big old blank. No tracks no nothing. Damn!!! It was maybe the coolest thing I've done so far. I had some great bass melodies and synth strings etc...

I tried to recreate it over the next two hours. It's a little bit similar, but not near as spontaneous and doesnt have the same flow. Couldn't remember the damn melodies!!!. Anyway, it's just for six automatic points. I should have saved a backup. I think the same thing happened to me a few years ago. Frustrating!!!
Be sure when you click people!
That has happened to me. Editting.

I have issues with on/off switches. Common Faders. Something like this would make my head explode. :flame:
Well many of the things I have done would make your head explode and I'm right there with you.

Over the past 10 or 12 years I have had to force myself to learn to function in the digital world.

This screen shot is just visual.
I don't know all there is about everything on it.
It is however a relative solution to the problem I had.

How do you duplicate a synth song created 44 years ago on equipment that was then state of the art ground breaking that like desktop computers became obsolete ? Created by a guy who really is a musical genius.

That and a midi sequencer all on the Mixcraft 9 pro DAW. Simple.

looking back at some of the old Riffmasters challenges, a couple that caught my eye were the punk rock challenge and also the one about how you started out with guitar.
I'm going to combine the 2 with a punk rock tune in the style of The Offspring. Smash was the first album I ever bought with my own money back when I was like 9 or 10. I didn't understand a lot of what they were singing about, but those drums and guitars left a lasting mark on me for sure.

Anyways, here is a rough sketch of the tune. It's only lightly mixed and a little sloppy because I was sort of writing it as I was recording it, but I think it's going to come out pretty cool. My idea for lyrics are about a vacuum tube powered furnace lol. It came to me while working on a big ol' oil burner at work

Damn , that is punk and it rocks.
Here's the thing , I like offspring but I think you upped the metal game a bit.
Great riffs .
The bass
:dood: Liveevil might say it in a accent "Forget about it"
Your tone on the guitar and bass sounds really good The mix sounds spot on to me.

Thanks man. I really enjoy playing in this style so hopefully it’s something I will do more of. It has some of the speed and aggression of metal but it doesn’t have to be quite as precise, which is nice lol

Hotter than Hell, it's the Tube Powered Furnace! enter at your own risk....

BURN!
Big Iron, Big Heat
Vacuum tubes can't be beat
Hot glass, orange glow
Let those electrons flow

Let's floowwwwww

Follow the cathode
Into the stack
Then through the phase inverter
No turning back

Once the valves open
You cannot hide
Once it begins to red plate
You've been rectified

Vacuum
Tube
Powered
Furnace

No negative feedback
Push Pull pyromaniac
Non Master Volume Steam

Fragile harmonics
Can't survive in a crystal lattice
No, they can't survive

Vacuum
Tube
Powered
Furnace

Fuel
Air
Spark
Vacuum

Before anyone listens to this. I would advise ...

I'm freakin floored!
I had to listen twice, so much going on in there!
I love the way you panned back and forth with the Left and Right channels.
The bass work and tone is crazy good.
The guitar work ... so cool!!!
I'm on my 3rd listen right now, :dood::dood::dood:

I have to fight the urge to headbang in the office.

Thanks man! I’m pretty happy with the way it came out as well. I’m probably going to go back and work on the vocals a bit, but I think it’s a lot of fun and I’m glad you enjoyed it.
