Sounds great man. it sounds kinda sexy too, It woulda been a good fit in the previous “love machine” challenge!

SON OF ….. MOUSE!!!!
This may sound inappropriate and kinda weird for a guy to say to another guy. But since it’s pride month.

You just made me need a cold shower.

Freakin’ GREAT work!!

Damn! Thanks guys. I can’t say anyone’s ever described my playing as sexy or wood enducing
lol. I’m sure my Time After Time cover will take the temperature down but in the meantime:

My blues submission (written by Stanley Turrentine back in 1960):
Sugar

.strandberg* USCS Boden 7 (Lace Aluma X-Bars)
That was sweet man. Great tone.

How do you like those lace pickups in your boden? I have a prog 7 and so far the fishman classics have been my favorites, but I’m not 100% on them. It’s a shame how few lower output 7 string pickups there are out there

TYVM!
i really love the Lace pickups that were in the earlier Bodens, but i also like the EMGs that are in my Boden OS 7 and the Fishman Fluences in my Metal 8.
They all sound a bit different, but there are enough other differences between each instrument that i can't say it's all just the pickups.
The way i would describe most of them is 'hi fi', almost in the way that a good PA system is supposed to be neutral as opposed to the Suhrs in my NX 6,
which definitely have a distinct colour to them (also sounding good, but sounding like themselves if that makes any sense).
In any case, i've never heard ANY Boden that i didn't think sounded great (of course, most of that is down to the amazing players who choose to use them*).
*which is not to imply that i think i'm amazing just because i play them too, LOL

Nice. I had an older Boden 8 that I stupidly sold. It was beautiful but I just wasn’t ready to learn an 8 string at the time. Joining this forum has me playing so much more that I wish I still had it.
I’ve never used active pickups before so they are still an adjustment for me.

Deconstructed Billie Jean (Top Of The Pops 80s)

Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on March 5, 1983 and remained there for seven weeks.
It was Jackson's biggest solo hit and Billboard ranked it as the second song of 1983.
The song also made chart history by making Jackson the first artist to top both the pop and R&B charts at the same time.
i believe that Jackson's six consecutive weeks at number one is still a record for male artists.
The video for the song was premiere'd on MTV on March 10th, 1983, and immediately went into heavy rotation.
It was among the very first videos by a black artist to be shown regularly on the channel.

When i tried to check the rules, i got #blocked, so i'm just winging it here with a loose fusion-y interpretation.
i couldn't resist throwing in a bit of 'Smooth Criminal' at the very end also. ;)

Deets: the bass part was played on an MüB J5 Mk.1 TL (Tim Lefevbre sig model) short scale 5 string
The guitar was 'Nat' (homebuilt T-type w/ 'staple P90 neck pickup) again.
The synthy sounding stuff was Nat thru the HX Stomp's 'Atmosphere' preset.
HX Stomp, 2i2, Logic (and i used the 'vintage opto' compressor on the bass this time).
Excellent entry!! Man, the way these aee all coming in I gotta get my act in gear!
Here’s a recent blues thing that hopefully qualifies for something. It looks terrible with my name on the board with a goose egg lol.

Nice! Love the bluesy spank there!

I really gitta get working on my 2 but I have the biggest gig of the year this Fri to get ready for. Had my Mom's 90th birthday party (she does great by the way, like an 80 yr old) this past weekend.
Lots on the plate.

Aynirar Parker Jr. Brings the heat with his modded version of Ghostbusters, rocking out new adventure theme song and likely the title cut of the RiffMasters "Best of" compilation album.

He recruits his kids, croaks out some fine and fitting vocals and gets the right guitar noises in a the right spaces masterfully! Then it turns dark... like Zuul dark, so much marshmallowy gain sag it's like quicksand releasing hordes of evil upon the world all to a pounding war beat. Leaves us all wondering if @Aynirar27 may actually be a guitar God in waiting, or at the very least some sort of demi-demon. Only the Keymaster and the Gatekeeper know for sure.
And, to top it all off, his Round SIX main event track is indeed, highly danceable, and also a bit of a risky choice. it left me speechless upon first listen. Super choice, bravely creative execution, and detailed production.

Frosty drops two entries same day adding Billie Jean with that insistently funky booty-movin' bass groove, some ethereal synth-like pads and lead guitarist melody over top. I would have liked to have heard more of the main vocal melody, because she does stray off onto jazz odyssey land a bit, but the bass line brings it around home again

Another GREAT Main Event submission of possibly the number one-est of all 80's number one songs, with her personal twist on it

This one may score big points in the upcoming vote to end round six, but it's also guaranteed at least 5 "participation" points once the vote is over. Another high risk/reward choice for this category. Nice mix, and brings back memories
@frostyjr shows us she can play with soul and style!

And sorry!!! in the flood of musical submissions I missed "Sugar" your "blooze" submission. Very jazz-tinged, but with tone sweeter than honey, and absolutely worth the single point offered, and more. I wish I could play like that.

Better yet, hearing me sing for the first time has had my wife handsy as all get out!

But thank you indeed for the kind review. The rhythm guitar and bass were very tricky to keep in the pocket given how simplistic they are, and gave me a lot of trouble.
It really makes me appreciate the pros for what they do.

Strat-Talk refugee @Mouse debuts into the RiffMaster space with "Improv Invitation" which should perhaps be titled " Sultry Adultry" -as a single point "Blooz Man" mouse dropping. As already mentioned, it's soulful, sexy and brings one to wonder what sorts of deep dark heartache and longing one man has to suffer to give birth to such a thing. Only his internet history knows for sure I guess. Stellar production, some cool-ass chord shapes and a whole lot of blooz man whoop ass going on there.

By game's end, there's now a danger of the RiffMasters penthouse becoming infested by a small rodent!
Both @Mouse and @frostyjr2 enter the game as "Buskers"

The next level is at 25 pts.

OK, here's my Top of the Pops 80s entry. As mentioned this is a straight cover so no creativity point for me. For those who don't know, I do a lot of video covers on my own. This was a good way to select one that I might not have ordinarily done. I love playing outside of my favorite genre (metal) and love playing pop music. Personally I really like this song and there was some nice subtle guitar parts in this one. Just be thankful that Girls Just Wanna Have Fun didn't hit #1 or I'd have chose that one. :ROFLMAO:
