The Muse I Adorn

Yesterday evening seemed the time to do a cleaning, oiling of the fretboard, restringing, and super slight modification to one of my favorite SGs…I’ve been playing it a lot lately.

One little change…I thought it would improve tactile control. So far, so good.

The witch hats look proper on a P-90 SG. I also love them on my '69 Standard. They just seem, right. And they are excellent when blindly trying to adjust volume and tone. The knurled top is great for control.

Excellent sir! I was just debating what bass to switch in for this evening’s armchair session…tough call.
Easy choice for me. I only have one. Bought sometime in the 90’s. It’s really the guitar I should have concentrated on rather than guitar. But it is what it is. Working on a piece for Brad’s latest challenge and well…. It was just time to get it out and get serious.

Not that I’ve had much time to play the last few weeks, but I did manage to squeeze out a couple of hours this week. I realized that I have been spending too much time learning how the homemade Trainwreck works or playing a couple of low powered amps. Last weekend, I gave the Hiwatt DR103 some love. Last night, I played the homemade JTM45 for about an hour. Then played the ‘wreck for fifteen minutes because it’s so much fun. Started with the EJ Strat, and then switched to the Les Paul. The LP into the JTM45 is such an incredibly great sound. Two flavors that are perfect together.
