Who Done What So Far Round Five (bonus points earned in brackets):
LiveeviL2000 - earned (1) with his Hellish Muzak - brought "Thoughts of a Male Virgin" for a love scene soundtrack which he also edited (2).
Clockworkmike - longing for the days when he could earn the easy points via guitar duels, without amps dying and much troubleshooting.
Mitch Pearrow SJMP - Earned 9 and scared the livin' bejeezus out of Aynirar27 in the guitar duel. We await more from this round from Mitch!
Ku² - Evicted TVvoodoo out of the penthouse with a creepy 1 pt. guitar duel of Hellz Muzak, then added "Sexual Recipe" as his love track, edited and earned another 3 with his epic off-time piece (3)
Ibmorjam - Channeled Santana w/ "Video Love," w/ edit, (2), also dropped Hot Place Muzak for (1), time-traveled w/ "Leap Frog" for (3) more
TVvoodoo - Brought a Sexytime video track (2), and "Eternally" for a Time Travel Hell's Muzak combo (4)
Jethro Rocker - brought us his love soundtrack track entitled "Fingering A Minor" with crackin' SFX (2), Gargoyles (1)and a clean off-time piece (3)
Sapient - brought an airy, aromatic music bed "Winds of Love," (2), did the dual sub for duel (1) and time travel with souls descension (3)

Aynirar - Made sweet love music "Fran" (sfx + Edit) (2) Time-travelled with "Perineum Sun" (3) and eeked out a duel victory for 18 points

down the mighty Barbarian Bob, (who, apparently is savagely saving himself for marriage?)

I have messaged @jtcnj regarding his status regarding his duel situation upcoming. I know he's been suffering some hand pain issues, carpal tunnel or arthritis or whatever, so that's gonna maybe take him out. Don't celebrate yet @Mitch Pearrow SJMP, that means you will probably be up against @Aynirar27 once again for a rematch, and this time, we are all hoping you will crush him like a grape under your boot heel, sending him back to therapy, where he can talk about his hurt feelings for $185 an hour.

Well Main Event Round 5 has been decided, I guess the writing is on the wall for who are the top Man-Stallion Romancers of TTR
Look how close it was. @LiveeviL2000 takes the round again, his second Main Event win for ten, I believe.... but even more exciting is that we see two newish TTR forum faces @Aynirar27 and @Randy Van Malmsteen inside the top three for the seven points each, and a best so far fourth place finish for forum regular @ibmorjamn, just edged out of the big points. Still he and everyone below him will benefit from Five participatory points.

With Round Five over, and our journey through the RiffMasters Musical Mystery Tour at half way,
we slide over another tile and reveal the Main Event Chapter Six Challenge - This gonna be fun!
No surprise, I'm sure many of saw it coming.... it's "#1 hits of the 1980’s!”
For many of us, the 80’s were a time of big life changes. Adolescence for some and college for many,
or for you others, starting careers such as construction, selling weed then coke, getting a chip truck, or
making Assistant Manager at Speaker City for most others here. So for this round, a treat. Relive those
glory days by covering a song we probably spun round, round like a record, baby, right round, round-round
many times! There was so much variety through the decade, new instruments, even entire new genres appeared. Waves ebbed and flowed, and the whole crazy concept of music videos pushed popular music beyond just an
aural experience, but into a visual pleasure medium as well.
It was totally awesome, man!
Your challenge for Main Event #5 is to:
Choose any #1 song from the 1980’s and redo it for us, any way you wish. Cover it faithfully, flavour it up,
do what thou whilst, but above all hoist up your creative freak flag for all to see! Might even choose to
Take on (me), a guilty pleasure song of yours - but above all, remember: the ONLY shame in RiffMasters is...

GOLD RUSH!!! Repeats would be lame, so... this is first come, first served! Therefore, you MUST stake
your claim by naming your chosen hit as quickly as you can here in this thread. This to keep your pesky
Riffmaster competitors off your musical territory. Repeats will be viewed as very bad mojo, resulting in
disqualification from the vote. If you wish to try to keep it a secret, go ahead and take your chances, but
that’s a VERY risky play. Plus, it’s going to be great fun knowing what songs y’all be tweaking on!
Here’s a handy link to all the US Billboard #1 hits between 1980-1989, so many killer songs!

To make it EXTRA fun, there will be 2 bonus points awarded for each of the following:
“Most Brave” cover
“Most “We Can Dance If We Wanoo” 80’s Dance Mode ” cover
“Best Genre-Bending cover ” extreme twist ie: Dance House song -> Metal cover (etc.)
Can you believe those? Interpret them however you want, I don't want to hold anyone back.
Theoretically, some RiffMaster with extreme skills could scoop up ALL the bonus pts. and win the whole
dang round with one killer song choice, execution and submission - that would be CRAZEEEEEEE!
I'm still working out how these extra points will be judged, but judged they will be.
Round Four Main Event Scoring: 48 hour Community Poll Vote on submissions post deadline.
Top Vote Earner = 10 points
Second & Third Places = 7 points.
Participation Award: All other competitors who submit = 5 points
