I think that dude is overly complicating things.
Firstly, first shot is WITH flash, you can see it reflecting but doesn't spread wide enough to get edges.
Blurry usually means no flash andnyhe shutter speed lowers to gather light. Sadly that also creates camera shake.

Slow shutter will increase shake as mentioned. Go back to auto, or P mode, and try setting the ISO higher. That makes it more sensitive to light, thinkmof it like a gain control in audio.
I promise that's the overhead light making that reflection. I know I didn't use a flash on that first shot. Edit: Actually it was a lamp behind me.

I was mistaken, it was the ISO that I set to the lowest. I can't find a shutter speed setting, now I'm confused.

I turned the lamp behind me off, had just an overhead light on. Switched to incandescent light setting and bumped up the ISO setting a couple of notches. This is the best one yet, but still a little blurry. I need to dig out my tripod, I think in moving when I click the button. It's getting better, Thanks!!

I get it now. It's so dark because ISO is low so I thought twas flash

That's getting better. Angle guitars more up or down to reduce the reflection. It can be tough with the arched tops. Looka better though. Could be lighter a bit. Your camera MAY have a +/- setting as well? Set it to plus 1 or 2 and see.
Shutter speeds really should set well automatically pending the ISO and lighting is decent.

I tried that just now and it was no good, totally blurred out and way too bright.

I think I have enough to work with now. I just need to get it a little brighter in the room I think. I only have 2 bulbs in my overhead fixture, it has 2 more sockets. I'll get a couple bore bulbs. I'm done messing with this tonight. Thanks brother!

Your last pic looks better but shows a resolution of 800x669 pixels. Most phones even are HD meaning 1920x1080. You can see where as one zooms in the details of the 800 amp get fuzzy. See if it os the hosting site resizing pics maybe or what.
Our friends with iphones text me imahes and they are all (must be an Apple default??) very low res, cannot zoom in at all. Like 240 pixels! Out of like 1080? Pretty low res so they can send a gazillion pics in one message. Unfortunately the reeolution then sucks

That's much better and can possibly be just cause tablets n phones tend to look darker!!

Cheers

I resize them before I load them to imgur or else they're too big to post. I used to let imgur resize them, but since they changed it I can't do that anymore.

Let me try it. This is an image I loaded to imgur without resizing using the BBC code. You know, I might be still thinking of way back when and it's changed now. Maybe it was back when I used Photobucket, I don't know, but I've always assumed I still need too resize images. I guess I don't need to do that anymore. lol. This was taken with the same camera, see how it gets dark towards the headstock? That's something that's always bugged me.

Quality good, just hot spot of light in middle. Camera is closer to body than headstock cause of angle, right? So camera exposes for center. No flash?

Probably no flash, but I took that pic years ago and don't remember any details.
Ah yes. To be fair it looks like flash. Big shadows under back of body. Flash does good exposure and shuts off. Headstock is a long ways away for the little flash. Auto flash, it likely fired and thus the dark top.
I assumed it was recent so no flash but it looks like a flash pic to me totally.
