Guitar tuners - Locking

If you have a non locking Trem and you are doing viscious bends, then I can see going with locking tuners. I do bends, and I am a relatively heavy strummer and picker, I have no issues. And for me the time it takes to change my strings, is nothing at all really.

I have to tweak my tuning some times before playing the guitar, due to humidity and temp swings, which is common in those conditions, and that will happen with locked tuners as well.

Truthfully Fender Vintage style tuners are one of my Favs.Poke the string in the hole, bend it over wind it up. I got Gotoh locking tuners on my SG JR. Its more a ease of changing strings in this case.Wraptail. My JJN Epi Custom has Grover rotomatics which are great.Rock solid. Again wrap tailpiece so its a matter of easy string changes here. No real hurry.Stock works fine.Screenshot_20240214-061821_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20240214-061840_Gallery.jpg

I guess I'm the oddball, I like regular ole non-locking tuners. I've never had any tuning stability issues and it doesn't take me much longer to swap strings (if at all) and I've broken more strings with locking tuners than I ever have with regular tuners. Y'all can have 'em!

Plus the extra wraps allow me to detune to make adjustments or swap pickups (or whatever) and tune back up several times without having to change strings. You can't do that with lockers.

Extra wraps on locking are ok too, prevents having to tie or under wrap or whatever one does to prevent slippage. I always have a bit.
