Guitar tuners - Locking

None, if you lock a string correctly none needed but a Floyd no doubt is best tuning system. My Schecter is still in tune 2 weeks later after all that whammy stuff
I would tend to agree. I’ve never had an issue and I know I’m not perfect in properly locking the strings. For me the benefit comes in changing strings. So darn easy and quick on my Strat. Which is laughable. Not like I change strings once a month. More like once a year.:facepalm::blink:

I've been looking at the Hipshot tuners and the Schallers. I've had good experiences in the past with Grover, but I can't find a set I like with them. Hipshot and Schaller have a lot of options.

In truth. The stock Epi tuners that came
In my G400 were just fine. Worked great. Didn’t have a tuning issue. I changed to Gibson Vintage Tuners for the aesthetics. They don’t work any better or any worse than the stock Epi’s.

I have never had any tuning issues, with any of my guitars, I have no locking tuners.
No problem here either. But changing strings are way quicker and easier with the locking tuners on the Strat. In my mind… that’s the benefit to locking tuners. Not tuning stability.

The nut and saddles play into tuning stability more so than the tuners. Unless the tuners are actually junk.

Yep faster easier string changes and less likely to slip IMO.

Indeed. Easy fast string change and I think, less chance for slippage as one does not need rafts of string wrapped around peg.
I have Godins that came with my Godins, some kind on my Standard Goldtop, and same on the Explorer. All stock.
