My MIM Strat came with Fender Locking tuners. Never had locking tuners before. I kinda like them. On my Tele project guitar I ordered a set of Gotoh Locking Tuners for the Warmoth neck. They look like they ought to be solid pieces. What's your favorite flavor of locking tuners? I'm thinking about upgrading my Dean V tuners.
I would tend to agree. I’ve never had an issue and I know I’m not perfect in properly locking the strings. For me the benefit comes in changing strings. So darn easy and quick on my Strat. Which is laughable. Not like I change strings once a month. More like once a year.None, if you lock a string correctly none needed but a Floyd no doubt is best tuning system. My Schecter is still in tune 2 weeks later after all that whammy stuff

I put the Klusons on my Epi LP Ultra. These are Gotoh locking tuners on my SG JR.They work great and look like the Gibson green keys.I put a set of the Kluson Revolutions on my grandaughters SG.View attachment 97797

I've been looking at the Hipshot tuners and the Schallers. I've had good experiences in the past with Grover, but I can't find a set I like with them. Hipshot and Schaller have a lot of options.
No problem here either. But changing strings are way quicker and easier with the locking tuners on the Strat. In my mind… that’s the benefit to locking tuners. Not tuning stability.I have never had any tuning issues, with any of my guitars, I have no locking tuners.
I agree , Schaller makes excellent tuners.Schallers are the best tuners on the planet. Pricey but worth it.
Yep faster easier string changes and less likely to slip IMO.I would tend to agree. I’ve never had an issue and I know I’m not perfect in properly locking the strings. See below.I have never had any tuning issues, with any of my guitars, I have no locking tuners.
Indeed. Easy fast string change and I think, less chance for slippage as one does not need rafts of string wrapped around peg.No problem here either. The nut and saddles play into tuning stability more so than the tuners. Unless the tuners are actually junk.
