Chinese Made Chibsons

God, what a jerkoff that guy is. Dude, go ahead and keep trying to convince yourself. King of rationalization there.
Lol he ain't lacking in confidence, I'll give him that. Probably will tell you his Pontiac Fiero/Ferrari is just as good too

Interesting actually! Namely how they call something mahogany when it isn't but "technically" it is by Chinese standards. That little weasel clause they use of " The right to alter at any time" gives them a legal backdoor to keep it in a certain price range.

I'm not trashing Epiphone whatsoever but that makes big differences. I knew about the bridges and tailpieces because Gibson parts will NOT interchange with Epiphone directly without some modding. Same applies to pickguards a lot of the time

If you buy a good quality metric bridge its much sturdier than the rinky dink Gibson ABR1 bridge.Large stud metric bridges are tough.

I don't care where something is made. At all.
That said, the wood used in China is different from a US Gibby. The electronics too.
Example. What I hear is Maple from Canada has become accustomed to cold winters and hot summers. It can expand and contract naturally better than Chinese maple that has never done this. Wooden furniture is the same.
So while a Chinese guitar can be very nice and fair very well, it isn't a US made Gibby.

Ive kept 2 guitars.1 is a presision guitar kits 1961 Les Paul Jr.The other is my JJN Epiphone Les Paul Custom. The stock Duncan P90 on the Epi went in the drawer and it now sports a early 70s original DiMarzio Super distortion.2 Strats and a Squire Jazzmaster arw going to my local American Legion Hall Nov.auction. All i need truthfully.Screenshot_20231024-141852_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20231024-141837_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20231024-141831_Gallery.jpg

I have no problem with “ copies”…I’ve had a few myself...but mine do-not say “Gibson” on the headstock. That would be counterfeiting. Counterfeiting is a crime.
I’d rather have a good Gibson. I don’t think I would be against having a good Godin/Navigator/Greco etc.
I think that's the heart of the issue: the counterfeit. If these AliExpress guitars would literally name themselves anything else including calling them what they are, Chibson! Then I think no one would really care as much( well Gibson would care most likely because according to them, they invented shoes, breathing, water etc but that's a whole other story lmao)

But it's that whole international trade and copyrights issue with China that allows this at the end of the day. Back when Ibanez were crafting some beauties in Japan in the 70s, Gibson tore them to pieces and really Greco and Burny caught hell too ( though Gibson worked a deal with them to license some models). China allows it to go on because they could care less and have no intentions of ever hunting down counterfeiters because hey, it's all money to them

So ive always wondered why nobody cares about Strat and Tele copies forgeries ect. Asians been makin copies of those for years and nobody gives a poop. Well maybe Fender does but nobody else does. So i can see why people buy this AliExspress stuff, looks pretty good and most workin smucks cant afford real Gibsons and real Fenders for all that. I wouldnt buy either of them. Just go to Presision Guitar Kits and make your own Lester,Strat,Tele what ever for alot less than Fender and Gibbo prices. All i did was google Ali expsress and all these forgeries come up.I dont own any personally but i can see there allure.Screenshot_20231024-150415_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20231024-150438_Gallery.jpg

Look close at tgat Fender knockoff you can see the damn Fender logo lol. They just dont care and i dont see these forgeries stoppin anytime soon.

I want one of those real bad, but without being able to play one I'm worried the neck is too fat for me. I like a 59 round back, but that's about as big as I can go. I think these are fatter.

I think its 50s style but best fittin for me neck ive ever played.Fingers dont get jumbled up on chords. Very nice feeling neck.

In Jared's demo vid he describes it as "a big C profile neck" and that's where I stopped myself from ordering one on-line.
