My Boonar is f'ng up. I need to contact them about repairing it

Did you know Zep's best albums were recorded with a Telecaster? It's obvious Physical Graffiti used the LP, but again, think of how much better it would have sounded with the Houses of the Holy sound? AKA: Telecaster.
Oh hmm, no I didn't. :osnap: I thought Zep ll was Les Paul. At least it is in my mind. Lol:ohno:
The first album is great but the stride for me was Zepellin ll. Never get tired of it.
Actually they are all great and page has more different sounds , fills, rhythms and tones than most. No doubt some different things mixed in the studio.

I do think you are correct.
Not all of it, but most was #1.

I guess I am a misfit.
I realize the influence they have had on modern hard rock but I was never overly a fan.
I don't mind some songs but way too overplayed for decades on radio.
Never was a fan of Page or his tone.
:hide:
Just his guitar.

Not really, its just subjective. What Les Paul tone is your favorite?

Yes.

I think Jimmy Page is perhaps the most inventive player ever, and his producing skills are beyond any kind of reproach, but he didn't always have the greatest or most accessible tone.
The old Zep was horrid producrion but perhaps mostly a sign of the times.

Have you listened to the most recent remasters? I find it pretty incredible what he was able to do with the technology of the time; far beyond anything I've heard from anhy other producer of the era.
No I haven't. Remastering might help. I found them muffled and dull.
I realize Zep was years earlier but Boston 1 sets a 70s standard for me.
I am just not a Zep fan overly.

Tom , I believe spent years in his home studio writing all the parts of those songs. At least that's the way I read .It was brilliant.

Probably Gary Moore or Zakk Wylde. Something with a lot more balls than they had in 1972. Rick Nielsen, while not exclusively LP, uses lots of them.
Gary's guitar "Greenie" once owned by Peter Green now Kirk Hammett drags it around on tour . The million dollar collector guitar. Accidentally out of phase and a repaired headstock.
Joe Walsh got one of his 59's back. They didn't say how much he payed for it so likely a huge sum.

Much of it of course is amp and settings. Nice to see it get played again.
I like that Rick Nielsen takes 2 classic bursts on the road with him still.

Right but you can get amps, those pickups are like original "Klons" now.
Not to mentioned the wood and craftsmanship from that time.

I am partial to Ritchie Blackmore's Strat tones. But yes, I do like Jimmy on In the Evening.

Of course I also like Lifeson, Adrian Smith's Strat style tones, Dave Murray, and GlennTipton's. But like Smith and Tipton, the likes of KK Downing also played Gib V's, LP's, ES and SG type too.
