So I walked into this guitar store the other day. There was this totally sick flying V on the wall that I had to put my sticky bong water fingers all over. Plugged into this totally bitchin' little combo amp thing, and started rocking out! I had little self-esteem as I'm just a teenager but I had all the teen spirit anyone could need to be a rockstar someday. When I come around, they know they're about to be treated to a show!

I asked the guy point blank: "what do you want for this guitar and amp? 25 for the guitar or 64 for the guitar and amp?"
He just looked at me as if I was a basket case. He said something really rude to me so I told him to stay away from me, at which point he said "hey man, nice shot, but that's the wrong weapon in in your hands, you need to leave the store".

That bastard. I put on curse on him, just like the curse of the pharaohs. And then I trotted away as fast as I could. On my way out, a crew of motley looking characters walked in and hired some dude that was plinking away on some telecaster in there on the spot. What a bunch of choads. They don't even know what they missed out on. Whatever, their loss, not mine.

Anyway, I'll be in the bus hotboxing the bathroom again if anyone needs me.

Should I be both ashamed and embarrassed that the first two riffs you did were some of the very first things I picked up on when I started playing guitar as a teen? Lmao

@Inspector #20 .. we all know he can play a little. But I'll bet he's froze up ice statue solid... over-analyzing his song choices and tone, going for absolute perfection

Not very Rock or Roll if u ask me.... somebody roll him a big fatty and say "go!"

LOL, well, life at the law firm has been busier than usual with multiple cases being prepped for trial on Monday.

I should be able to bang this out tonight...I hope!!!!

Once anyone starting out in the 90s discovered a power chord, suddenly 80% of the most popular riffs of the day were able to be played in minutes and you looked way more pro to other people than you possibly were lol when you stumbled onto Drop D, you had the other 20% pretty much wrapped up
Absolutely!
Once I discovered the likes of Hetfield and Mustaine though, I suddenly lost all interest in such posers as Cobain and his ilk.

Not me.. but I am old remember.
You aren't that old 'else you be sawin' lawgs lol

I had heard of those other 2 dudes long before Kobain
Sure, but I was pretty young at the time.
I had to learn a few power chords before I could even step foot into the world of Metallica and such. Crap such as "smells like teen spirit" was popular and in all the lesson books and stuff. It was unavoidable.

I always felt like I was born about 10 years later than I should have been.

Ugh I remember the days. I wanted to learn as much AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Nugent and Aerosmith as I could but my hands didn't work....so...lots of Green Day, Bush, Nirvana and Offspring made me impress people in my class lmao

Then I discovered Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Megadeth, Slayer and a lil while later In Flames, Killswitch Engage, Soilwork, Shadows Fall and erased the small space in my brain that occupied any of those early riffs lmao seriously would struggle to play them now
