So this is what photobucket has to say about this...
Our Terms of Service does not allow 3rd party hosting
for your current account level.
We have created a Plus 500 plan that allows you to continue using Photobucket to host your images with Linking & 3rd Party Hosting.
Our Plus500 Plan Includes: Ad-free browsing, full resolution photo storage, 3rd party hosting & priority customer support. Along with those benefits your content and services will be featured to millions of visitors as part of our exclusive PB Deals community.

*What is 3rd Party Hosting?
Alternatively refered to as inline linking, "hotlinking" is the action of linking to an image or object on another server. An example of hotlinking would be using an <img> tag to display a JPEG image that you uploaded to your Photobucket account so it will appear on a different website like Etsy, eBay auction listings, blogs, forum messages, etc.
I've been digging into this a little more for my own info.
It seems Photobucket recently changed their terms of use to no longer allow image hosting on free accounts. That would appear to explain why it suddenly changed for folks. In fact, you have to buy their most expensive package ($399.99 / Year) in order to be allowed image linking and 3rd party image hosting.
My guess as to why some images continued to show up for some of you that they were stored in cache.
Sooooo....it looks like this may catch up to all of us who have been using Photobucket. This will hose up all of the images anyone has posted on any forum that are linked to Photobucket.
Fun times ahead.....
BTW, you can be assured no human is checking through everyone's Photobucket accounts. This is almost certainly algorithm-driven and sooner or later the algorithm will getcha.
