Pretty sure my issue was just tubes.... Could be any amp lol.
Some of the TSLs got a bad rap because a few years had a bias drifting problem. Mine wasn't one of those years..also, everyone who doesn't own a DSL or TSL loves to hate them.... Compound the fact that all the old plexi and 800 guys despise anything new..... But in fact, most all people who own the 2000s love them to death.

Only issue I ever had with my dsls were they were so friggin loud! Lol!


I'd still be rocking one of them if the foot switch could change channels and the bias pots weren't buried upside down under the board.... Little things... But in all seriousness, those DSLs flat rip!
So much useable gain!

And the old Plexi guys didn’t like the 800’s or any MV amps either.
Because when I finally got a Marshall amp it was a MV and they crapped all over it, this was in 1978 and it was a JMP 2104 MV.
I have no experience with a TSL.

I have a DSL1 and love it. But, I hear what you're saying about people loving to hate stuff. Always caught crap for my JCM900 cause it wasn't an 800... but that thing roared like a pissed off T-Rex, and that's all I (or our fans) cared about when it mattered. :dood::rolf::dood:

I miss the speed master too. I had this nagging fear that somehow his feelings got hurt from Anti Tele teases going too far.
I doubted that was a reason, but suspected other pulls for his time were.

I also post comments on his youtube clips. As I hope he knows, we are brothers from other mothers for life.

The speed demon of thrash is doing well. I’m in contact with him pretty frequently. He is pretty busy with his band.
Last I spoke to him he had his full lineup with his band and they have their first gig lined up.
 
I havent submitted anything in a while. The tank is a little dry lately.

I've been messing around with mic placement on the new 212 I have. Cant seem to find that sweet spot. What I am hearing doesnt translate to what I capture.
Let me know what you guys think, any suggestions would help.
