Following up on your comment about how a riff can be played many different ways, this is one is a great example: Heart of Gold by my fellow Ontarian Canuck renegade Neil Young
Speaking of which. Many months ago I mentioned Gordon Lightfoot. I’ve played at his tunes for years. Ramo challenged me to dirty up Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald…… which only has 4 chords repeated over and over for like 10-15 minutes….. I’ve really tried and so far all I’ve come up with is a louder clean version of the song. :pound-hand:

However, check out the group Disturbed on You Tube doing it. It’s pretty good!

Oh yeah…. And there was no chance of slipping this one past me. I’ve been a Neil Young devotee since the original Woodstock. I rode around town in the early 70s with a young lady by my side listening to this 8 track. Still think about her every time I hear Heart of Gold. And no. She is not the current Mrs. IbLive that’s been married to me since 1978. (Actually started dating in 74) She went off to college and missed this boat.
