Learn to play with grace on a clunky instrument, and your playing will be pure & smooth on a quality one.
When I got my first good guitar, my playing literally improved overnight.
Not that I seek out clumsy guitars, you understand. But there is an upside for new players.

Love Martins. And you trimmed the string ends. You get my vote for a job well done. The love affair with the new Martin is as strong as ever. I changed the string size to 10-46's and the difference was amazing. Tonally excellent and much easier on my fingers. Excuse the poor wrapping job. Still learning.

It's so true. I love my Yamaha's, but Martin's have their own mystique. I'm finding myself to be more creative in my playing. More confident.Once you get your hands on a really nice acoustic, it’s like a whole new world opens up.
Looks damn good to me. Beats the hell out of mine. And I don’t know that I string it up correctly, but they never slip.

I guess I sorta do a variation of the 2nd method he demonstrated. It’s been working for me for decades.
SG John, what pups do you have in your 335?Been rawking the ES-335 through my DST-30 with a treble Booster. Hmm, who else thought that was a great combo? It sounds fabulous, especially with Goodmans Audiom 60 speakers in it. Total early sixties vibe to it.
