Positive / Negative / Negative / Negative

Thursday morning was informed I was positive according to health department COVID test....Then I took another test, it was negative.
Then I took another test it was negative.
Then I went to the Vet's hall and took another test it was negative.

Three tests for 3 days all negative.
One test (the first one) positive.

I don't have COVID, I don't have any symptoms.
There is absolutely no indication that I am sick.
I am vaccinated 3 shots...

But what a pain in the ass. :BH:

My eldest is an 8th grade teacher. Been staying ahead of this thing since it started. Been vaccinated. Been boosted. Religiously wears a mask. 8th. Grade took a field trip last week. No one but him on the bus masked.

Being asthmatic, he really doesn’t need to contract the virus. Well…. Last week finally bit him. A week from end of school. Tested positive. And he does have symptoms. Got in touch with his doctor right away. Got some meds. First couple days were tough…. But he’s on the mend and appears all will be good.

We all do what we can. In the end sometimes the beauty queen gives a big smooch on the lips and sometimes a kick in the butt.

That's been a very aggravating factor in mapping and tracking this thing: false negatives and false positives. But the way you went about it is sadly one of the better ways to do it, in that you multi-tested daily to give a definitive answer.

If your last 3 tests came in clean, i would say that scratches out your first one and makes it a false positive. On the flip side if you were to hit 3 negatives THEN a positive, it's more alarming as you would suspect maybe the first ones were too early and gave false negatives.

With the 3 known types of testing now, it's both a curse and a blessing at the same time.
- The Rapid Antigen tests can give you a good idea but, lots of people who take it just take one when its actually set up for daily testing over the exposure period ( so between 2-3 tests from 24-48 hrs since exposure ). This can be painful and expensive if you are doing at all home testing as well.
- The RT-PCR is the most accurate and definitive but its a pain in the ass waiting 36-48hrs for results and during that time, you're supposed to isolate which if its a negative, it makes it more aggravating.
-Lastly, the NAAT test is a good compromise between the previous two test since its results in 2 hrs and uses Nucliec Acid much like the RT-PCR but shortens the time like a Rapid Antigen. But the drawback is they are harder to find and schedule ( though typically larger Walgreens can perform them).

In any event, hope you skip this and continue to feel healthy!

If somebody (dept of health) declares that I am COVID positive...
then they should afford an opportunity to be re-tested to confirm the result.
Do we have that opportunity? No of course not.

Millions of dollars spent on a dysfunctional heath care system that refuses to communicate, refuses to follow through.

Some doctor needs more gasoline for his BMW.

Well, either way, glad ya don't have it.
When they told me the test was positive I was shocked and afraid.

Then I took a home test and it was negative.
The next day I took another home test and it was negative.
Then the next day I went to the veterans hall and took another test, it was negative.

Then I had started to realize this is pure bull sh it.

I'm beginning to wonder whether I'm human or not. I've worked through the entire pandemic, had several shopmates catch COVID(who I worked right next to when they were contagious, and not once have Ihad any symptoms. Also, I haven't been vaxed. I don't get it, but am very thankful. I've seen what that virus does to people and it breaks my heart.

Apparently people who smoke cannabis and people who take CBD are seeing a much lower rate of infection.
It's thought that the cause may be that the receptors in their bodies are being blocked off...

Now get ready for monkey Pox.

I'm thinking it's endemic. I've had it, not too long ago, and there's a good chance I had it before it became known as "covid" too. I've known more people that had it, and fully recovered at some point, than people who haven't been infected at all. My wife is the one person that I know personally who hasn't had it yet. As far as people I personally knew who didn't make it to the other side, all of them were vaccinated.
My mom, who has been fully vaxxed and boosted, has been isolated to her bedroom for days now, currently has it. Fat lot of good that vaccine is, huh? I worry about her. She's in otherwise good health though so I think she'll be okay.

I'm afraid that this is going to be the new common cold, that it's just something that is now always just going to be there, continually mutating, and continually making people sick - just like the flu or the common cold does, and I'm pretty sure that there will be no truly effective vaccines anytime soon. Vaccines for coronaviruses have been attempted for decades to no avail. Oh but this one...just tossed together in weeks' time...yeah, I dunno about that at all. Especially since vaccinated people are still getting sick....

Just to put it out there, IMO.....I think politics infected, and ruined, both science and common sense. And I'm not terribly surprised by that. Politics ruin EVERYTHING.

Lol!
It's really funny.
I took two PCR tests in a row one on Jun 1st, and one on June 3rd.
So I could get two negative test results....

But the lab never processed the June 1st test. :BH:

And now after all this time I still don't have 2 PCR test results.
They told me "make another appointment."
And the soonest appointment was June 13.

The situation is being managed right into the toilet.
It's completely scatter brained.

Just curious, was there any particular reason you needed to have 2 neg test results?
You're feeling well otherwise?
