It's all about the Rrrrrriiiffffffss!

I need to sell this guitar off, or restring it and set it up drop D or something.... I don't hardly ever use a Floyd in these lower drop tunings anymore... Anyhow, here's tonight's rough riff idea.

These are the kind of riffs that rock on for years, and never get old..
Thanks for posting Steve

That riff took me back in time. To the time of mullets, girls with big hair and jackets with shoulder pads.
A time were being PC meant … absolutely nothing!

Then the riff stopped and I am back in 2022.

Keep playing that mean green time machine Steve.

I'm not loving this new phone mic at all ha ha...
The phone I had 2 phones ago did this same thing... It was really picky with spl's and at the 1 minute mark it created it's own phaser type of effect for about 15 seconds lol..... I may have to get serious about a different setup.... Or maybe just stop caring about the sound quality altogether, just trying to library some riffs for future reference....

Anyhow.
Today's notes.

Nice work.
I had sort of the same problem with my phone and, just like you, it bothered me.

There is a drum track playing through the stereo but I can hardly hear it in the phone recording. ??

Here's another rough idea.

Really dig this. Which amp are you using, BTW?

Maybe what might help is to only use the 412 on the right of the screen, and stay more to the left of the 412 on the left. Then your body movements shouldn't impede the sound waves between the cabinet and the phone... ? maybe... ? 412s are designed to beam out the sound in an almost straight line, not fill the room 360*, so getting in between it and the mic would definitely alter the sound hitting the phone.

Think of the 412 like a flashlight - if your body casts any sort of shadow from that light onto the phone, it will change the light in the video. Same thing with the sound.

Tonight's anthem.

The heavy part smooshes my mics into a flanger type effect.... it's hilarious.
My new mic interface should be here in a couple days.
I thought I had a really good tone in the room... It's not captured here ha ha, but at least the riff is.

Go with the Flanger effect!!!!!! Just roll with it!
GREAT high energy riffing!

Here's tonight's rough idea that started clanking around in my head after dinner.

It's basically one of the Raining Blood riffs that I revamped and then another part I can't decide if I should play notes or chords thru it... So I did a little of both for the sound byte.
