I know, but I’ve been through years of torture by people playing Peavy Butcher amplifiers. As a result, Peavy will never be on my radar. Unless someone wants to send me on the road touring, and I don’t think that will happen anytime soon. I honestly have no desire to buy anything these days. Maybe finish some projects, but that’s it.You know you can still get a USA MADE "vintage" instrument (that doesnt suck) for less than an Epiphone or Squire in most cases..........
made by real 'Mericans ... in Meridian Ms.

I personally dont give two flying #$!&s if someone else doesnt like the guitar I play or if it's even remotely popular. I play what I like because it's what I found cool and interesting
For all the smartass grief and complaints from people ( and face it, there will ALWAYS be the naysayers); I am a Gibson guy. It's not that I think its a status symbol, that I'm trying to replicate someone I idolize ( sorta WAS true in wanting an SG for the first time due to Young and Iommi) or that its popular for the time.
I liked Gibson from the first time I played it because it WAS different than anything anyone else was using when I started playing guitar. Obviously the first two guitars I owned were not Gibson ( a Fender and an Epiphone) but within 18months, I saved up my pesos and got an SG: a guitar completely uncool at the time due to Nu Metal and the usage of Ibanez 7 Strings, PRS and of course the venerable Fender Strats. But Gibson was NOT a popular brand at that time and so it immediately attracted me.
Basically anything anyone else popularizes, makes me run into a completely different direction lol
An SG's or the ones I mentioned? LolThe scale length alone is reason to jump ship, IMHO.
Greed and profit don’t do much for me. Yes, I like proper compensation like anyone else. But, I’m never looking for angle to make the next buck. I get paid good for what I do Monday through Friday. I still want music to satisfy my soul. I’m too small of a fish in a big sea in this area. I’d like to keep it where I still love it. Just hoping now the drummer recovers from all his surgeries, otherwise playing out in a band situation, or this one is done. I’ll find something else if that happens.I just a worker bee....Save for a miracle, everything I do has to be profitable...
BUWAHAHA me too -- which is why I will regularly swap form a vintage all original perfect 1970 Les Paul Recording guitar.(think they are hovering in the 2-4k range)_ ....... to a 169.00 GROTE lol --I personally dont give two flying #$!&s if someone else doesnt like the guitar I play or if it's even remotely popular.

Honestly Robert, I could not name a single Slash song, nor recognize one if I heard it. Over the years I just got so tired of the "Slash is God" talk.I respect your opinion, but having met the artist, not once, but several times, I can say that he has always been a humble and likeable dude. I've never heard him say anything bad about anyone.
You know who else is a class act in this regard???

I dunno buddy... I'd put my Silver Sky up against any Strat any day.Fender has an absolutely brilliant marketing department. It's a smart way to approach the guitar playing community. It's current. Its relevant....and it's paying off.
The PRS Silver Sky is a joke. It's a Strat with a PRS headstock. Absolutely zero originality being passed off as 'special.'
But, TBTH, you really don't have 'guitar players' anymore.
It started with Cobain and Nirvana. Not being able to play articulate solos suddenly became 'en vogue.'
Well said. We are in a global economy now, and I fear the good old days are gone.I find a few people here when it comes to guitars specifically they don't like guitars that are made in China , well i see they want to buy American made, support your local workers keep jobs in America . I get it , but don't blame the Chinese for making a good product. The people to blame are your high roliing American businessman that want to make higher profits . They are the ones who want to put those slave driven kids to work. they are the ones that want to build factories in China, so they can make high profits, thats what its all about greed.
I know one Canadian businessman in Canada who likes to have things maufactured in China as well, the bottom line is profits. The thing is after working at a job for 38 years, I have seen quite a few lazy individuals who don't want to work in my lifetime, they want the money, but they are more interested in wasting company time on their smart phone or being out in the smoke shack, rather than putting in a good days work.
This to me is also part of the problem why Companies prefer to go off shore to have things made including guitars. Maybe when and if mindsets change of some individuals in the workplace. in the future to have a good work ethic , and Rich Businessmen become less greedy about $$$$$$$$s there will be a better balance of Company's making guitars and goods in our Country's instead of China. These companys are seeing that Chinese are producing some very good work, we are seeing this now in Chinese guitars.
If there should be blame for guitars coming out of China, Blame the Companys that put the dollar above the American and Canadian workers. You know the names of many of these Rich greedy individuals, they are in the news, on reality TV shows etc,etc....
I dunno buddy... I'd put my Silver Sky up against any Strat any day.![]()
There must be a reason for this...

The PRS Silver Sky outsold all USA-made Fender Stratocaster models on Reverb in 2021
The bestsellers list includes a wide range of Fenders and Squiers – but Jazzmasters miss out on the top 10.guitar.com
That's OK.I am not saying it's not good in terms of setup and adjustment.
It's an embarrassment for PRS to try and pass it off as new and innovative.
It's a Stratocaster copy with a PRS neck.
I feel like they missed an opportunity to make something really special.
Custom 24/22 ain't no copy.Monkey see, monkey do, IMHO.
Fender has spent a fortune pimping the Stratocaster in general. It's iconic.
PRS is a copier. They copied the Les Paul (called it a single cut) to capitalize on the stigma.
Same with the silver sky. It's smart marketing.
Some people are fascinated with John Mayer.
My co worker Johnny, who demos my guitars, smokes Mayer 6 ways from Sunday.
But to me, what the masses do is not what I want to be a part of...
