Make sure you leave fit room around your baffle to account for the added width the grill fabric will add, if it flush mounts into the framing.
That does look like a dense type of fabric for a grill application. I have some concern about it coloring the tone of the speaker output sound waves through it.
But have at it; do-overs are acceptable if need be.

Thank you! So a rabbet is the groove on the interior?It's looking good so far! I also did a rabbet for my cab's baffle. Nice and strong and neat.
