The moment @Iron1 has been dying for is almost here ... I'm such a freakin' tease!

Seriously, I finished the shootout between the DSL40CR, JOYO ZoMBie and JOYO VIVO.
While the file is processing, I will tell you how I made sure they were all equal.
Here is what I did.

First, I tried to balance the volume best I could between all three. That was a pain.
Then I decided to make sure the riff sounded exactly the same, meaning same attack, tempo, notes ... EVERYTHING. I decided to record the riff on my looper, no effects, no cab sim, nothing! I made sure the looper didnt affect the tone. It didnt, this is how I sound with no effects going (I need practice!)
I set the gain knobs on all three to high noon and let it rip.
The images of the amps show the actual settings used.
You will notice the JOYO amp volume knobs are pretty damn low.
The guitar I used was my LTD EC-1000FR tuned D# std Bridge active pup EMG 81
Other than my TRIO+, The signal chain was Me -> guitar -> Trio -> Amp -> Mic -> Interface

The DSL was set on Ultra Gain Red channel.

.... Let see if the file is ready to go!

The dsl sounds exactly like a DSL to me! I think they are one of the few amps that always sound the same across the board. It's like when Morgan Freeman is talking, whatever character he's playing or if it's young or old MF.... He always sounds like MF.

I liked the vivo clip a lot, there's a little less sparkly high mid in it and more of a middy hump to it.

When your clip started I thought oh yeah! Rock you like a hurricane!
And the clapping at the beginning is a great touch!

I tried to get as much range in that riff as possible, high, low, mid and still make it sound half decent. I figured the 12" Celestion V-Type speaker would make them all sound good too.

and yeah, The first notes were meant to sound like scorpions, I figured that would grab your attention ... only for a let down. sorry @Headache

I also made it fair and kept the DSL at 20w instead of 40w.
I'm still amazed at how much power these little things have. I can't wait to really start messing around with them and see what kinds of tones I can coax out of them.

Very cool, Evil! I subbed to your YT channel. Just 999,997 more like me and you'll be on your way to stardom!

For me, the DSL sounds the biggest. The two Joyo's both sound a little boxed in, like each one has a hi & low pass filter cutting off the very low and very high ends. But, of the three, I think I dig the ZoMBie most. Definitely need to get my hands on one...

And, obligatory @Ramo comment: Why play so slow? Is your Top constricting your picking speed? :ROFLMAO:

Thanks! Who knows, maybe in about 250 years I'll have that many subscribers! Can't wait!!

I put a poll in this thread, should have done it in the beginning. It cant be a shootout with out a valid clear cut winner.
