Is making musical instruments and amplifiers from scratch considered a hobby since I don't do it for work?
I used to race motorcycles, but now that I do not work as a machinist anymore, it is too cost prohibitive. Just like playing with the several basket case motorcycles I own that are 60+ years old. Parts are unobtainium, so I need to make them myself. Got my '59 Pan/Shovel out in the garage, and hope to ride it this year, as Feb. 24 is the 40th anniversary of me buying it. It may be the only way I can self isolate, and pursue my other passion.
More than anything else I love to travel, and being married to someone who works for an international airline has helped me do it frequently and inexpensively. However, I can't do much of that now. Just got my Tickets to Saxon, Uriah Heep, Girlschool, and Diamondhead at Hammersmith refunded because getting there and back on an employee pass is out of the question right now. Hope the same is not true for Hawklords in April at the 100 Club in London. I love that venue. Traveling to places like Tuscany and Southern France has taught me to slow down and enjoy life, and take an hour to drink that cup of espresso, glass of Champagne, or mug of beer while the world unfolds before you. I could retire in either place. Also love the French, German, and Swiss Alps. Then there's Prague, Berlin, Mainz, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Maui, Oahu, London, County Claire, Dublin, Isle of Man, Memphis, Winnipeg (in the winter), and so many other places that I've seen that have helped open my eyes to more than what goes on here. Also have been through three Canadian provinces and most of the Eastern U.S. on a motorcycle.
