Do you have hobbies other than guitars, gear, or music.

Is making musical instruments and amplifiers from scratch considered a hobby since I don't do it for work?

I used to race motorcycles, but now that I do not work as a machinist anymore, it is too cost prohibitive. Just like playing with the several basket case motorcycles I own that are 60+ years old. Parts are unobtainium, so I need to make them myself. Got my '59 Pan/Shovel out in the garage, and hope to ride it this year, as Feb. 24 is the 40th anniversary of me buying it. It may be the only way I can self isolate, and pursue my other passion.

More than anything else I love to travel, and being married to someone who works for an international airline has helped me do it frequently and inexpensively. However, I can't do much of that now. Just got my Tickets to Saxon, Uriah Heep, Girlschool, and Diamondhead at Hammersmith refunded because getting there and back on an employee pass is out of the question right now. Hope the same is not true for Hawklords in April at the 100 Club in London. I love that venue. Traveling to places like Tuscany and Southern France has taught me to slow down and enjoy life, and take an hour to drink that cup of espresso, glass of Champagne, or mug of beer while the world unfolds before you. I could retire in either place. Also love the French, German, and Swiss Alps. Then there's Prague, Berlin, Mainz, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Maui, Oahu, London, County Claire, Dublin, Isle of Man, Memphis, Winnipeg (in the winter), and so many other places that I've seen that have helped open my eyes to more than what goes on here. Also have been through three Canadian provinces and most of the Eastern U.S. on a motorcycle.

Through the years I've dabbled in all sorts of hobbies.
Some I can still do., some not so much.

Oldest hobby I have has to be the guitar, since I got my first one around 1967. Cant play much anymore due to injury, but still do repairs.

When I lived in Wisconsin, snow skiing was a big pastime. Not anymore, not enough snow in the swamp.
Also learned woodworking in highschool. That seems to have stayed with me, as my instrument crafting is rooted there.

Shooting & reloading has been a fun pastime for quite a while. Along with building & shooting black powder pistols.

Enjoyed archery for a good number of years, until shoulder arthritis brought that to a screeching halt a few years ago.
Sold or gave away my bows & gear. Had a Scout merit badge in archery back in the day too.

Always liked having a good looking car and working them. Still do to a point.

Hiding from my wife is the pastime that occupies most of my time now. She seems to think that when I'm idle, I need stuff to do.
I beg to differ. So I stay scarce. My little work shop is my escape.
