NOT body cavities you PERVS!

This crap
XGP Flat Black Cavity Shielding paint- HIGHLY conductive!

IS GOOD crap.

Some may recal my lovely little P90 SG Jr......well after a pup swap (thanks RVA) it was STILL noisy --I MEAN BAD --- any gain or any sort of dirt would send it to HUM-TOPIA and no knob fiddling could calm it---
Still the thing was/is very nice ---see

SADLY to the point I was THINKING of trading it off ---OR ripping the P90 out and putting a humbucker in it............however...... I decided to try a proper shielding .......and it has TRANSFORMED this thing----110% improvement ---- WONMDERFUL stuff and IMHO faster and easier than copper tape.

The SG Jr. will be here a lot longer now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm...great timing.

Right AFTER I put all the copper tape in my Lester Studio project!

This stuff would have been easier...way easier.

Oh well...at least all my Les Paul's cavities are shiny!!!

(I have a feeling I'm gonna regret typing that!)

dropped all the HUM out of this beastie as well.

One bottle goes a long way. thats 2 geetars....calmed ---- quieter and more playable...for less cost than a pair of new bass strings........(not like I ever BUY new bass strings--- lol)

I don't have any guitars with hum problem...I do however have an amp or two that won't be quiet, even with no input.

Took 9 feet to quiet my SG.....wish I would have had a solid review of the paint back then.... :-(

Fer sure.

I bought an 18 foot roll, but didn't use anywhere close to that. I'm not going to unroll the rest to see how much is left!

I bought a 2" wide roll, so I was able to cover quite a bit with short pieces.

I looked at lots of paint prior to doing the copper thing. I don't regret doing the copper. But, I would have been willing to buy two bottle of this stuff.

I shielded my old strat (pics previously posted). I shielded everything to make a tight box. It's the quietest strat I've ever seen.

2 as the directions call for ........I READ the directions----I dont always LISTEN to them---but I do read them lol

Well 1 was a Jr. with a small single pup cavity.......the other a "P/J" bass layout and I only did the PUP cavity on the PJ the control cavity came lined with tape when I got it ...................

however I still have 1/4 bottle left........of and Owegi used some of it on one of his guitars......so I think it is a better $ value than the tape.

I been fixin to mix up a home batch by scraping off some of the rust on my strings into some old spray paint sprayed into a cup.
Guess i'll be due for a string change at that point.
:io::eek:o_O:rolleyes:

What you worried about the hum? it sounds better than my playing, its a good thing, like chorus.
