Marshall 8200 Bi-Chorus Head - Oh poop!!! Its NAD:

@Robert Herndon ,, did you by any chance pick it up for under $200?

LOL....No.

It had 8 offers and it was in 4 people's shopping carts. When the price dropped from $375.00 to $335.00, people put it in their cart so if the price dropped again, they just have to click once to make the purchase.

I threw then all a curve and paid full price. These amps go as high as $600.00 so even at $375.00 it was beyond 'dirt cheap.'

Nope....

Seriously, a 5 pound speaker and it sounds good?
Where does all the heat go?
It will take the entire power 100 watts? (it's rated 250 watts)
It has 2-1/2" voice coil diameter, vented magnet, so there 'is' hope.

I would be afraid of the uncertain not so healthy parts. In today's economy of houses selling for MORE than the asking price with 2-5 offers that exceed one anothers' offers, it does not surprise me.

Yep...it's scary...but not as scary as continuing to play through something less than what I really want.

I may just have to learn to fix it...

100 watt Jensen Jet 12" Neodymium - 3 pounds...sounds phenomenal.

A great big congrats & enjoy on the new amp Robert, & apologies for taking so long to get back to you with it. Great to hear that you now have the exact guitar/amp rig you've been wanting. Now I'd best read through the postings to catch up. Cheers

Nice score! Hope you enjoy it

Im a fan of finding and using "lesser" gear in the eyes of others, because it keeps you unique and makes you learn how to really use something. Valvestates are fine amps that have been sadly overlooked like many others over the years and can work amazingly in the right hands.

Ill say this: id rather see someone go get something usable and practical that not only sounds great but that you can actually work with. Better to buy something that is affordable that works, rather than go out and buy something overly inflated in its price, it's name and worse: you cant even really use it.

Pricetags dont make you a better musician, just like buying a $50k kitchen appliance set isn't gonna help if you cook if you dont even know how to use a microwave.

Thank you, my friend. I've wanted one for years. I've played through them and love them, but could never find one.

Robin Trower played through one of these, a Leslie 950.
It has black lights and fluorescent paint job...
Actually he had 2 of them, but his roadies hated it. It weighs more than 300 pounds.
Can you imagine that thing falling on a roadie? Ouch.
