He's right.

Get back to me when a thrash band makes it nearly 60 years and sells out around $10m a show, with over 30 studio albums ( 18 which are platinum or multi platinum and the rest reached gold at least)
If you talk about sales a lot of pop stars make more money but that means jack poop…..

You can have all the sales but it dose not mean its good or relevant.

you keep attacking my thrash, im entitled to have my opinion like you are. If I think they are boring its boring to me it dose not mean its boring for everyone and same applies to you to. If you like something it dose not mean its best… it means you like it…..

Gotta concur there. The Rolling Stones haven't been relevant in 30+ years and their continued popularity, as it were, is reliant on the nostalgia circuit and utter predictability and simple access of their musical output. In my opinion of course. But to many of us they are the embodiment of a boring Boomer band that outstayed its welcome many years ago.

On Daltry, whatever. I never liked The Who either and they guy lost his pipes years ago. He's got opinions, so do I. Streaming services may not be the best money-makers, but they do give time to acts that most of us would never hear of otherwise, and I know as least for me when I hear something new that I like I go and buy it. Many won't, but at least the artists are getting streams and even if making a miniscule amount off of it that's better than the old model where they never would have been heard at all and perhaps worse, signed a record deal and then the record company shelved the project and never allowed it to be released - I know several people that happened to under the old system Rog seems to love so much.

Kinda seems like you attack everyone else's music taste or style that ISN'T Thrash honestly lol but yeah, to each their own

I don’t attack anyone, when I say Thrash is the best it’s meant to be with joke.
You can listen to Lil Wayne I could not care less but if you say its the best and try to prove a point by bring up the album sales thats what I have problem with.

Not everyone going to like or have same ideas about things and that my problem with a world.

If majority like something it dose not make automatically ”best” or-majority’s opinions more right. All it dose it shows different take on same subjects.

I dont like who either lol….. All I am saying is that I agree with some of his comments.
Streaming is best way to find new music it might not be beneficial to an artist in short run but in long run I think it is.
They get exposure and if listeners like the artist they might want to support it and they might go to a show, buy a merch or albums.

JT, I never understand more than about 10 words in any song, unless it is Rush. I had no idea Brown Sugar was un pc until about 3 weeks ago
Me neither. I always was just listening to the guitar and drums. There’s a lot of old songs that I’ve listened to over the years, that until I tried to play them, by getting the tab/lyrics, I never knew some of the deeper meanings, let along some of the words. When I was learning China Grove 20 years ago, I never remember hearing the words “Samurai Sword” and I heard that songs 100s of times.

What I may want to interject here supports Ramo, Mike, Gball and all with their OPINIONS.

We all have different likes and dislikes, and as I see things, Some here have chosen to have a little Poke the bear type fun at each others expense. BUT I do also agree that no one, including Ramo, really means any ill thoughts toward each other's preferred styles of music. Only simple kidding going on and demonstrating skills and or knowledge of particular styles such as Thrash, Blues, Classic Rock, Doom, Sludge, Punk etc.

Correct me if am wrong, but part of Roger Daltry's message is that society and youth have changed due to the web. Not soley a position such as Don Henley is operating as. but to say that the web has changed how we as humans are approaching treating, interacting, communicating and behaving like due to the impact the forces contained within the web and how they impact the lives of 2020's humans.

There are many songs of many artists I don't know the words, I mostly choose a song to play by the beat and tones from guitars, if its catchy to me, I have incentive to play that song.

Exactly.

MY LONGEST faux pas where this is concerned goes back to childrens' nursery rhymes.
It was not until I was about 45 yrs old that I would be aware that the words were not Maresy Dotes, and Dosey Dotes, and lil lamsydiveys.

I used to say, WHAT the heck is a Maresy Dote?

Then I heard/ saw it enunciated as Mare's eat OATS, and DOES eat OATS, and LITTLE LAMBS EAT IVY.

OH DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH on me
