Peavey classic 50 chassis removal

no from the bottom of the chassis.......flip the amp over are there any screws on the chassis going up to the top of the cabinet?

No, it seems to be pivoting on the front. You know I am tenacious and would figure it out if I cared, but I don't. I do not like the amp that much. I bought it because I always wanted to try a Fender Tweed amp. I now realize
1-This is no Fender Tweed.
2-I do not want a Fender Tweed amp

Shopping for the Panama made me realize that there are a lot better amps out there for me.

I get attached to guitars, but not amps, not even a little. Problem is they are tough to ship!

I am surprised I do not know myself better by now. It is out. It needed agressive wigging, which I was hesitant to do. But once started to hate it, I was willing to risk its life in the quest for knowledge

Now to stay alive!!! (think how eerie this post will be if I get the final shock - be right back!)

The Classic 30 is no better. PITA.
Peavey does suck like that with the Classic line. But they do sound good once tuned up a little.

I have learned a few things so far:
1 - F. Peavey
2 - check your parts before you start working - they sent me an A/C fan
3 - if you are too stupid to check your parts, the fact that the wires are both black rather than red and black should tell you it is A/C and not D/C
4 - buy extra fuses whenever you own an item that uses them. You will need them eventually - I blew the power fuse while working
5- F. Peavey

OUCH----- sorry man ----I would say send it to me----but -----I dont have the patience for that------ and it would require a BIG hammer.

I cant speak to the new Peavey gear....I only have old stuff......and its actually only guitars.....I only had one Tube Peavey Amp it was a Valveking and I liked it, but never had to work on it. :)

Actually, I am happy. What I learned tonight is for life, and I did not get electrocuted. Now if the chassis dropped on the floor and broke, I would have just learned #s 1 and 5, but 2-3 are worth the effort

So here is a sad thought I just had. The Radio Shacks near me all closed. Fuse by mail only?

Thanks for the tip on the DC fan...I'll remember that when my other guitar player's starts getting much louder than it is now. His 2x12 has been getting there over the past year...I'm guessing it's only a matter of time.

Just barely. I stuck the fan wires in the wall jack to test my theory. Then I started poking around the circuit board to rig the A/C fan because I am impatient. I then blew the fuse, thankfully before I touched something that was 400V

You could try a local Ace/TrueValue Hardware store if you have one nearby. When/if they do have proper spec, they do tend to be pricy.
