As I said before, we have my self and almost all TTR members here different definition of metal. I know those band put foundation of what metal is today but, they are not metal bands.Though by their own words they are a rock n roll band, in fairness, they WOULD be Hard Rock i suppose. But they are one of those bands i mentioned before, that walk the fine line of A/B and often metal guys will openly accept them. Motorhead was the same exact way with Lemmy saying " We Are Motorhead, We Play Rock N Roll' but then they carried a LOT of metal traits and sound. Thin Lizzy, UFO, Van Halen had this same situation going on as well.
Not metal in the traditional sense in fairness, but they have a lot of the checklist parts: loud, heavy guitars/drums/bass, a strong frontman vocalist, wrote about musical topics considered taboo and had the imagery.
AC/DC was for me personally, the direct pathway towards heavy metal and the blueprints to things much heavier and more extreme. They were my introduction into that sort of music i guess
Neither, Motorhead, UFO, AC/DC and so on....
so what you are saying is , AC/DC and Megadeth should be in same category? or Motorhead and Testament? UfO and Slayer? See where Im going with this?
now lecture me why they belong together lol
