Delay Reccos:

Do you need to set to precisely 50ms, or just sort of close?

I prefer something like the TC Electronic Nova Delay which lets me specify the precise delay time, either in milliseconds or BPM, and let’s me choose the exact delay subdivision. It has a resolution of .1 BPM, if you chose that mode.

If you have some particular loyalty to Boss, they make other delay pedals which have similar capability.

I'm pretty pleased to see that my 15 year old DD-3 (that's been modernized by Modest Mike) has the capability to dial in a precise delay signature!!!!!

Lately, I've found that I just absolutely love a 50Ms Delay in the studio, so I want to duplicate that live.

Yes. That delay time is in the time range for what would be considered an echo, not to be confused with a slap-back echo, which uses a longer delay timing. Generally, echoes fall roughly into a 30 to 50 millisecond time frame.

Are you going to run it simultaneously with your reverb?

On some songs, yes.

50Ms is my go to setting for rhythm guitar work.
