I been looking for a Boss Delay Pedal that can be dialed in for a 50ms Delay...then discovered my DD-3 can be set to 50ms????

I don't understand the letters and numbers on the 3rd knob.



So, all the way left and right on the 3rd knob alters the Delay times???

I've had this delay 15 years and don't know how it works.

Ok, I see now the 3rd knob micro letters indicate the full range of the knob at its different settings.

Depending on the mode of the 4th knob which defines the parameters, the 3rd knob is your variable for that range. If the 4th knob is set to 50, your veriable pot goes from 12.5 to 50. Click the 4th knob to 200 and you vary from 50 to 200 etc.

You should be able to obtain 50ms on two different settings.


Set 4th knob to S. 50ms. Set 3rd knob all the way clockwise.


Other way is set the 4th knob to M. 200ms. Turn 3rd knob full counterclockwise

I have one that I used for years. Using long delay, with knob three about 1:00. Then adjust level and feedback to liking.

Do you need to set to precisely 50ms, or just sort of close?

I prefer something like the TC Electronic Nova Delay which lets me specify the precise delay time, either in milliseconds or BPM, and let’s me choose the exact delay subdivision. It has a resolution of .1 BPM, if you chose that mode.

If you have some particular loyalty to Boss, they make other delay pedals which have similar capability.

The most musical stomp box delay I have ever used and it's so much more is the Eventide Micropitch
and for those single amp players it has a mono switch but to take full advantage use it stereo.

I usually can't take the time to mess with it because I'm always on the clock.

When I need to make adjustments, I call Kurt at Primo Rehearsal Studios in Riverside and book an entire day and make any needed changes at stage volume.

Lately, I've found that I just absolutely love a 50Ms Delay in the studio, so I want to duplicate that live.

We have some Eventide equipment...but not a stompbox. This studio is constantly upgrading, even when I feel it's unnecessary.
