My Buddy's LP. See if anyone can tell me what it is.

Not much came up about Bad Asses but some mention of a Yamaha with a similar bridge and another pic post of a LP with one on MLP. Some mention of Schaller was brought up in the MLP thread.

Leo Quan was the namesake behind the "badass" bridge and his name actually appears on them, but they look
different.

Again, I think this is just what was available at the time and nothing more than trying to find another way of avoiding the collapsing zinc bridges.

Very cool older guitars for certain.

At least this one has a defined intonation pattern.

Personally, I just use the aluminum Nashville's from Philadelphia Luthier Tools, but they do offer a brass one as well.

I was collapsing a zinc bridge a week before Kenny at Philadelphia Luthier Tools sent me an aluminum one to try. I think it's how I tend to "chop" my palm down onto the bridge while playing...

This is what the BadAss bridge looks like. They were made for early SGs, Les Pauls, Firebirds, Epiphones, and Melody Makers with stop bar tailpieces as a bridge. It made intonation possible. I have one on my ‘68 SG Junior, and three more in my tool box. Next string change, and one will end up on the burgundy metallic SG Special.

I don‘t think that they are made any more. I‘m always looking for nice ones on eBay. One of the two in the photo is NOS from the ‘80s. There are just inferior ripoffs these days.
