That is just kick azz, what a precision tool you're getting.

As I'm sure you are more than aware of, can't get a saw like that and go cheap on the blade.

Congratulations, I'm sure you'll love the Laguna.

Thanks! I got some Timberwolf blades. Middle of the spectrum, but well regarded by the regulars. The next step up are carbide blades you can sharpen, and I opted for disposable!

You have plenty of time to find what you need, at a certain point they all start to cut good. At first Lol.

Now you need to make buddies with a sawmill.

I had an old guy that had a portable sawmill and a stand of hardwood. Used to charge me $2.00 a board foot for oak, maple, and walnut or cherry if he had it.

Used to cut me a deal when he found the squirrelly wood, his name for figured/ curly. I paid $1.75 a b.f., because it wasn't "straight grain"

When I moved away in 2000, I rented a 20ft. U-Haul for just the lumber, moving from Wi to Az was culture shock for my woodworking.

Cool story! I think I may visit one!

Thanks. I actually have a bit of guilt over the purchase. It is clearly more than I need a the moment, but they say to grow INTO tools, not out of them, and to buy the best you can afford. I have the room and the funds, so I went for it.
Dont feel bad you workd you earned the money and you can do whatever you want with it. Like you said YoLo.... get sawing and making cool guitars.

The machine has been assembled and test cuts made. I am happy with the way it is performing and the setup for my first run.

However, I am a bit frustrated in the degree of precision that internet and the instructions imply for a device that does not have micro adjustments. The blade centered in the cut to prevent drift, guides that should be a millimeter off the blade of just touching, etc., yet you are given knobs and screws with course threads and asked to shim if necessary in some instances. Those type of adjustments do not lend themselves to 1 mm accuracies. I may be making more of the accuracy required, but I am way type A. I am interested to hear anyone else's acce[ted tolerances for their bandsaw setup

Anyway, here she is. A real beauty! BTW, my mickey mouse bed sheets (now drop cloths) are my beddings from age 3!
