Radioactive Booze: Chernobyl Apple Vodka

Apparently 1,500 bottles of " Atomik Vodka" were seized by the Ukraine government and the scientist who made it from radioactive apples grown near Chernobyl, want it back.

The scientists were researching if crops could be successfully grown near the Chernobyl Exclusion zones, after the 1986 disaster and subsequent evacuation. This was 4 years in the making and if it's to be believed, the crops were successfully watered from the radioactive streams with "minimal radiation" and "safe to consume".

The bottles were on their way to the UK and profits would've gone towards Chernobyl victims and displaced families. The funny part though, was the booze wasnt seized over safety issues, rather disputes over the customs labels which the Ukraine said were forgeries.

So, if you want a helluva buzz the next time you wanna pound booze and potentially grow your own clone from within your spinal column: try some Atomik Vodka!

So you could ship a nuclear warhead using UPS, and nobody would notice?
Like nobody is testing for radioactive emissions...(?)
Like Vodka can glow in the dark / nobody pays attention.
That's kinda what i took from this too honestly: the Ukraine was cool with shipping it and the UK was happy to accept it, minus that pesky customs label. Thats insane when you think about it. You'd think that radioactive materials thru the parcel and postal service would certainly be a no-no when they want to know if you shipping certain battery types or perfumes, but i guess making a dosimeter rock off the scale is just fine lol
