Good forums work because of no Politics or Religion. Once you get linked into someone's personal life like FB, and you start seeing their posts, things take a turn. The last forum I was involved with died a horrible death because of this. You can't unsee an opinion that sours a relationship.

I use Facebook mostly for keeping up with cousins and other family I don't see a lot. You'll also see a lot of pictures of my grandchildren. I put band stuff on FB amd mainly keep in touch w people. Otherwise I would nix it.

While everyone is entitled to their opinion amd we should be able to get along with anyone else's, unfortunately sometimes major issues surface that truly show a person's character. I have one friend who I have unfollowed on FB and the gal in one band no longer wishes to play with him because it does show a lower moral compass and some other issues. Things that make me not want to hang with him.

If he would have left his out there opinions, well, in there, it wouldn't have come to this.

Me too. No social media. Just guitar/amps/speakers ... Forums.

My Facebook is for family and close friends. Otherwise, I hate it. I'm pretty happy here. There's no creepy ads showing what I was talking to my friend about. We tested it out. Within an hour, everything we had talked about was showing up. I don't like it....not one bit. But then, I have an Echo Show sitting in my house. My buddy, Alexa is handy. Whatever!

I think I've seen more friendships end because of that place. I realize it's intended purpose, but we are talking about human nature . It doesn't take long for people to completely screw it up.
