Got a bunch of new guitars and amps today.

Here's my tuppence (it's worth fuk all)(yes, I know...):

Love the SG, a must keep.

The LP looks interesting, likely worth keeping (it'd be sad to let it go if it's a good 'un because you may not ever get an equal guitar at anything like the price).

Ibanez make some superb acoustics; do you need an acoustic?

The rest can go...

Looks like you got some great stuff, congrats and enjoy. :dood:

Thanks!

Yes, the SG is a keeper for sure. I thinkbthe LP too. I don't really need an acoustic so the Ibanez goes but it's really nice. Plays really well and has rosewood sides and a solid spruce top according to the old Ibanez catalog.

Yeah, in the case of Les Pauls I wonder why they even bothered installing them.
I started playing on LP's, so I'm used to it and don't have a problem with it. There is a technique to it. You tuck your thumb under the neck. I actually find myself doing that on Strats and Teles as well due to the blocky neck joint.

If you're not used to it I can see how it is awkward, but if you are, it is like a natural reflexive action.

Yeah, I tried that and it works. It's not comfortable though.

Like I said, you get used to it, and it feels natural. There was a time many years ago, when my only guitar was a Les Paul. I had to adapt or die.

When you're young and don't know any better (or don't care) you make what you have work for you. Then we get old and soft, and we cry when we have to move our elbow to play the guitar. :pound-hand:
