I once walked by myself in the desert in Israel and I found a pretty rock. I took it home and gave it to an old man who made jewelry from it.You should take it to the desert someday
I don't know what that has to do with anything, but the old man was my grandfather, and the jewelry he made was beautiful.
This is why I keep on liking this guitar...
Yes, I did switch the volume knob with the pickup selector....amongst other things....but this guitar really pulled the heavy work through this stuff....
I used the LTD Horizon for all of that stuff....great fun!

That is some really good stuff brother. Heavy but melodic. And the vocal harmonies kill me. Am I hearing a little AIC influence? I thought "Heretic" was awesome. You're bringin' the ROCK. :dood:
As far as the guitar, yeah the LTD is awesome. I have low wind humbuckers in mine, and it is so versatile. It works for any style. Admittedly, I did some work on this guitar to bring it to where it is now, but now it's freakin fantastic.
I have not played many LTD's (I briefly owned a single cut EC 256), but if the rest of them are even half as good as this one, then they are excellent guitars.
From around 97 to early 2000’s, the LTD cut through for me....it was my ”hard tail” solution for drop tuning etc... It ran with a Duncan “Screamin Demon“ in the bridge, and a Duncan “Seth Lover” in the neck position. As it happens, this guitar recorded some significant material for me through its lifetime, Sadly, the scarf joint in the neck has begun to fail, and I have retired it. I’ve pulled the pickups, and moved on....
I liked the post, but am sad the instrument is retired .

I've never seen a scarf joint fail. There are some very old classical guitars with scarf joints that are still going.
I would think it would be fairly easy to re-glue it.
Probably, but along with the scarf joint fail...there is the binding, and the fretboard separation...new neck is in order...not worth it.
Weirdness with the fail....the glue join is sloooooooowly letting go.

Unfortunately, I get that. My very first real guitar purchase (not counting the actually first $25 purchase of a piece of crap department store “toy” guitar) was my Yamaha 12 string. Action was always too high. Not adjustable like on an electric. Was told a neck reset would fix that. Yeah..... no. I’d pay a luthier more to do the reset than I paid for the guitar.
